30/1/2024 14:10 | Thanks CRT | tag57
30/1/2024 13:37 | Since Skyship not around for a while I will have a go.. Prices based on buy price of 10K Shares and not including tax or dealing costs. AV.A - 129.48 (6.76% yield) AV.B - 126.80 (6.60% yield) GACA - 126.24 (7.03% yield) GACB - 118.05 (6.67% yield) As usual GACA appear best bet, but also consider that they don't go ex-div until June. Cheers CRT | crt131
29/11/2023 11:15 | Yields at offer prices: # AV.A 8.75% @ 131.65p-133.3p = 6.56% # AV.B 8.375% @ 121.25p-123.5p = 6.78% # GACA 8.875% @ 124.0p-125.5p = 7.07% # GACB 7.875% @ 112.0p-114.0p = 6.91% AV.A & GACA both go XD tomorrow (30/11/23) | skyship
10/11/2023 08:29 | Nov quite often a firmish month as we get nearer ex div early Dec particularly against backdrop of fall in inflation next week or so though that could well be in the price. | langland
31/8/2023 03:41 | I suspect a good chunk of the boi bond redemption will be recycled here, I certainly am | catsick
29/8/2023 11:48 | dekle - If you are looking for a cast iron short-dated instrument delivering c7%; then look no further. Redemption cost covered more than 14x NBPS at 120.50p matures at 130.63 on 30/10/24. So in c14months time you receive your payout after a GRY/YTM of 7.14%. Or to look at it another way - an 8.41% capital gain in that time. | skyship
29/8/2023 10:56 | Always worth a look/asking on here... | cwa1
29/8/2023 10:48 | Is anyone aware of good quality bonds worth considering. I'm already overweight with AV, thanks, Dekle | dekle
18/8/2023 19:24 | all eggs in one basket ? | doom4gloom
18/8/2023 09:56 | GACA slightly better yield? | davebowler
17/8/2023 15:44 | Ok, thanks. | mister md
17/8/2023 12:08 | No, assuming there are no concerns over Aviva's finances and its ability to pay the preference share's dividend, long term rate expectations are far more important with fixed income perpetuals. For instance, if the market is worrying that the Bank may continue to raise rates to tackle inflation then it makes these look less attractive at the current price and you'd expect to see its price fall. Its current yield on the offer is 7.3% vs a Bank rate of 5.25% and 30yr gilt of 4.89%. | wmb194
17/8/2023 11:52 | Shouldn't this be going up a bit in tandem with AV. common stock ? | mister md
26/7/2023 09:14 | The spread, if you're looking at the trades, is currently 117.5/119.8 not 117/122, which is 2.3p. These are looking cheap now compared to AV.B | yf23_1
26/7/2023 02:26 | I think it varies. You may have to bide your time and keep checking the spread. | cassini
25/7/2023 23:59 | just looking at the close tonight there’s a 5 point spread on the bid offer. Is it normally that large ? Considering a trade but with this spread and costs it essentially wipes out the dividend value for 6 months. Would appreciate insights, i’ve only recently been looking at this and GACA | doom4gloom
25/7/2023 01:59 | I think UK/US inflation figures coming in lower recently has reduced expectations of future rate rises apart from those already expected. So, on that basis, the low on these prefs ought to be in, but no-one really knows of course, we live in interesting times... In the 70s though, inflation came in several waves, albeit over several years, so who knows what might happen next year if inflation takes off again. I bought in October though when the price was a little lower and a divi was only six weeks away so that was a slightly better deal than right now. | cassini
24/7/2023 23:31 | Are these a buy yet ? I guess it depends how many more rate rises come. Looking to enter for a long term holding as a pension income but cant decide which way to go. | doom4gloom
15/6/2023 16:34 | Yields at offer prices: # AV.A 8.75% @ 121.0p-121.84p = 7.18% # AV.B 8.375% @ 113.0p-116.0p = 7.22% # GACA 8.875% @ 113.15p-114.25p = 7.77% # GACB 7.875% @ 103.7p-104.5p = 7.54% Being hit by the continuing rise in interest rates. The GA prefs again the best value. | skyship
01/6/2023 14:20 | -4.0p ex-div so not quite the full -4.375p due in theory. | cassini
31/3/2023 14:53 | In these febrile markets locking in a sizable chunk at 7% seems to make sense to me. | fatherjack3
15/3/2023 10:34 | RSA’s ex-d tomorrow | wmb194
15/3/2023 10:03 | RSA 7.375 are a better buy right now in my opinion tiger | castleford tiger |
