I expect to see this in the doldrums for a while yet. I struggle to see what good news could see a rise in the share price I have held and sold for over 10 years, my av. share price at the moment is around 75p. It may rise my 2p in a day but it always drops accordingly. Should I just dump the lot with a (for me) a substantial loss.

I would like to see them bid for Gt leighs, not sure why though??

this company is definetly run for the benifit of the directors, with such a low share price, or perhaps there should be an extraordinary meeting called to see whats really going on

cretin>> (seems rude to call you that)

""i also think arena should go for great leighs, until i read pontin,""

Does that mean you think it not an idea for the management to look at??

What % has Pontin got?? It seems the stig has been outed so maybe he is next!!!

ffp seems to be on the ball, i also think arena should go for great leighs, until i read pontin, he says that if Arena were going to expand they would have gone for Northern racing, which they never even put a bid in. pontin says a merger with northern racing or a takeover of arena by northern is more likely.

This chap also said sometime ago that the banks in trouble should have been liquidated, to quantify losses. Because the government threw money at the banks without knowing the full extent of the debt, now he banks come back for more, it is for that reason when a company hits trouble a bank will always liquidate the ailing company so the losses can be crystalized.
Pontin says the government should have liquidated the banks and formed its own bank with the $600bn tax payers money it has wasted so far.

This fellow is a genius, i have said before, somebody should identify this man and let him advise government, so far he has been well in front of the game.

Just been on our local news. It seems the trainers, jockeys etc like the facilities, in fact they think that they are excellent. Unfortunately the paying public do not. Is that not Arena's strength to sort?

MOb, that was quick, almost as if you were waiting for such comment..LOL!

Does that actually matter. Could well be at a bargain price for ARE to do as they do. If the management think it is right to do so then I would go with it.??

Let them finish the track & build some facilities first. How long have they been renting the world's biggest portakabin, last used at the Ryder Cup at the K Club?

Any thoughts on the article in the Mail on Sunday about Arena buying Great Leighs from the adminstrators?

Great Leighs is an all weather race track, but apparently the facilities are not good and the place would need a fair amount of investment. Checking Arena's trading statement earlier in the month they appear to have enough flexibilty within their bank borrowings to do something like this.
