a44,

1)up to date news can be seen via advfn or any other financial site
2) Brokers, there is no excuse no days to use a cr@p broker. Self trade are quite good, well most of the time when you can get stock, other at that point in time, phone through or send the dealer the deal, and they'll most of the time get what you want.

who do you use?

a44, sometimes people just want out, When they've seen a low low, then a higher high than normal, they'll sell. There is always someone else who wants the stock as they see a higher high than the previous high. ;)

well someone has took the shares. 173,000 sterling is quite a bit of money to spend without thinking you're going to get them back. Maybe the bidders or those parties looking at buying the company is parts of the company are buying them.

I would be more concerned that they were happy to sell at 16p e.g. current price, as I bet they know more than us.

Who's bought them ?

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Rathbone Brothers Plc. has sold off its
approximate 1.65 percent stake in pharmaceutical company Ardana Plc.
According to a filing to the stock exchange, Rathbone sold 1.08 million
shares at 16 pence a share on April 15, leaving it with no interest in the
company.
Rathbone previously sold 100,000 shares on April 11.
It also sold 1.50 million shares on March 27, the day when Ardana confirmed
it had received a number of offer approaches for the company, boosting its share
price to an intraday high of 20-3/4 pence.

The CEN deal shows that there is money available for acquisitions so all is not lost for ARA.

Natwest and I am being told the order will not go through due to MiFID.

Quote "you are expressly instructing us to NOT publish your limit order to other market participants".

Mmm sounds like a cop out as they claim they offer better pricing by doing this. I believe they do this so they can move amongst their existing clients. So this would make sense why an illiquid stock is hard to trade with them.

They have now confirmed that if I especially request the order can be published under certain criteria!

yes its time. It will take two weeks set it all up with selftrade, from form filling to confirmation, however you should be able to call up a bank and buy shares on the fly I'm sure. Who is your broker.?

Yeah, I though that is what you were saying so why can my broker not get any order though! I have tried from 10k down to 100 and still can not get it through.

Perhaps it is time to look at another broker.

Ta, just using current bank but am looking for a good online broker any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by your comments as I have been unable to trade any quantity for weeks. By trade I mean immediate execution at current price. It appears that virtually all trades for weeks have been by the companies' brokers and banks judging by rule 8.3 notices.

a44, who is your broker? Anyway online limits are balanced at the moment as one can assumed they've balanced their books with 100,000 shares each way. Hope that helps.

powwow and message off thread.

You indiacted the size the market allowed on this for buy & sale and was spot on against what my broker was offering.

Could you do me a favour and check CHS as I have not been able to trade 100 in either direction for weeks now.

Thanks in advance.

Always hedge yr stake by 50% if the share goes up yr still making a profit n if like it has done come down then buy back in with original stake but keep the profit that way you end up with the same amount invested but have more shares and sum profit banked hope that makes sense
