Andes Energia (LON:AEN) should be one for the radar, after Repsol raised its estimate for potentially recoverable oil and gas at its Vaca Muerta asset in Argentina. They now believe the basin could contain nearly 23 billion barrels, indicating a total shale deposit sizeable enough for Argentina to challenge the US on the non-conventional petroleum production. Shares have had a fantastic run over the last 4 or 5 months, jumping from 18p to its current level of 52.5p at the time of typing, and with the news from Repsol overnight, this could potentially add weight to the bullish vibe surrounding the stock. We will be watching closely here over the next few sessions to see how the market reacts to the news.

I asked my broker to dig around and he couldn't find anyone to substantiate the article. However, who knows?

Super looking chart here - can't see any reason to exit until the uptrend ends (I hold no position). Hopefully the trend will continue for a while. Good luck to you all.

Judging by the rise recently and on Friday I doubt that.

Very brief mention in today's Times Market Report talking about speculation that the company could be bought? First I've heard of any takeover speculation.

idd - low volume moves this share price - lets just hope the impending news is as good as we suspect as an illiquid stock in a falling market isnt much fun!

Small but frequent share price gains and continued though small volume buying on no news suggests (to me so dyor) news soon.

Something is brewing. I reckon they have completed Mmox-1
RNS must be soon
The Loma de Lata had rates of between 250- 450 bopd on average.
Obviously a second well some distance from this is needed to de-risk the licence but if there is a good well speculation and dependent on the Seismics this could be another large field with significant OOIP of which we own 13.5%

Looking forward to the RNS. We now need the tariff changed for inflation again and all stars will be pointing in the right direction.

Topped up again as volume and charts suggest good news!

Hmm is that 200,000 AEN shares buy at 47.75p a precursor of some news.

I hold (unfortunately rather fewer than 200,000) dyor

It's seems now a shrewd move to takeover the rights of Grecoil so full working interest in the Vega Grande block and smaller ones in Mendoza province. I can't however find a map showing the licences in Mendoza and the distance between Vega Grande and the Chachacheun field in southern Mendoza.

I can't work out if this is the cause of the spike or oil flowing in Mata Mora. Either way they seem to know where are good prospects!
