Well the directors disagree, the market seems to be putting a base in on a lot of stocks too.

7.5% yield looks safe, upbeat trading statement, historic PE 6.7, fwd PE 6.4 and they have said they are on course to meet recently.

Last director buy was Jan 23. That means a trading statement saying they will meet or beat in early march will be long enough after that director buy.

Shares usually always respond before the news and before the stock looks an obvious buy imo.

An ISAable PE of 6.4, earnings growing and a 7.5% yield even with increase is a pretty rare animal. Net of the divi and the fwd PE is about 6, your net buy price around 82p and the 6.5p divi next year too.

That's very cheap imo - bags more upside than downside however it's viewed I'd say.

Johnsons are dead men walking due to their own incompetence imo.

I'm sure AXD will find their demise very beneficial - JSG have become much less competitive anyhow with the interest they are paying compared to earnings/losses.

AXD have been very upbeat on next year too - I suspect they will do better than the 13.2p eps forecast. 6.6p or more divi payout over the next 11 months too so the net buy price over 12 months is under 80p (you can buy @ 85.5p). PE net of divi is under 6.

Chart is on a cracking long term support level too.

I understand that Johnsons, their main opposition is imploding, is this good or bad news? will more contracts go to AXD or will johnsons bid silly prices for contracts??

Can't believe how ignored this stock has become.

Directors already said they expect to meet, they have been buying shares, the yield is 7.5%+, 7.75% for the coming year.

They have over £5m on the balance sheet.

They have had normalised earnings for the past 5 years of 8.6p, 8.7p, 10.4p, 12.4p, 14.1p.

Structural changes should mean that earnings have the potential to grow faster.

The PE for the year just ending is 6.8 and ISAable.

These sort of bombed out prices rarely appear imo.

I had a few today with the Chairman buying 20K yesterday.

Just had a chat with the very confident CEO Julian Bud.

Amongst other things he said, the company is "better placed now than it's ever been" and "the market is wide open for us"

He is a very likeable and approachable chap and has invited me to ring him back after the finals announcement. He believes there will be a significant improvement in debtor levels (he told me why)and stock levels.

I am most pleased i topped up this morning.

Now then, now then.

Digital Look are showing new revised Broker figures UPGRADED.

To 30th of Sept 2007 EPS of 10.0p P/E of 13.2 On todays share price of 131.5p

To 30th of Sept 2008 EPS of 11.8p P/E of 11.1 and a PEG of 0.6.

I think the previous figures were a P/E of 14.7 and 12.9 on a share price of 128.5p.

NICE.

This used to be quite a high yielder. Does anybody have the yield / cover figures based on last year? I have always thought that this one would slip under the belt of Johnson or else provide a footbridge for the yanks / somebody else to enter the UK / EU market. This industry is due for rationalisation. Buying power is the winning formula. We shall wake up one morning and find that this one has been swallowed. It is at a relative low and is looking vulnerable. Don't expect to see AXD on the screen this time next year.

Assuming that the trading statement is in line with expectations i would agree with you.We shouldn't have long to wait, but my cautious side tells me to wait until after the statement.

Anybody still interested here? Price has fallen over past few months on no bad news. A trading statement may be imminent as they have issued one around this time in past couple of years. Assuming they are in line, could be a good price to get in once some stability appears.
