17/2/2004 14:08 | Moving up today - been pretty solid at this level CR | cockneyrebel
21/1/2004 21:58 | SGI is a nice buy imo. CR | cockneyrebel
21/1/2004 21:29 | CR Given your record ... I am sure you will be proved right ... but the some better prospects including many of those you have promoted (I am looking at Stanley Gibbon ... good story). Good luck. | alfwilson
21/1/2004 17:28 | Well they now source production abroad. Some of that will be sourced in dollar denominated countries so the sourcing price should have fallen a fair bit, especially in those countries that use the dollar as their currency link. Earnings per share up 18% in H1, I expect better in H2 and better than 20% for the year. I think 20%+ growth on a pe of 9 or less is pretty attractive, may actually beat 20% growth this year. Forward PE probably less than 8 imo. Pays a 5% divi. Director recently buying at 84p just as the year ended. Dog alf? looks more like a sweet little underpriced kitten to me :-) CR | cockneyrebel
21/1/2004 17:12 | CR I must be missing something here ... even with my optimistic f/c eps of 9.9p ... it looks fully price even now. In facy it looks a bit of a dog what am I missing? | alfwilson
21/1/2004 13:56 | Don't know but I'm holding - seem cheap. CR | cockneyrebel
21/1/2004 13:55 | Was that little spike a preliminary to a breakout? Anyone doing TA on AXD? | sandbank
12/1/2004 17:38 | Ah, there is life on thew AXD thread :-) I was waiting to see when this would get a response. I think you're right - a 0.6p gain over H1 last year mean's if H2 was flat then they would hit 8.8p. Bearing in mind the reduced debt and lower interest payments that must be a foregone conclusion that they beat 9p imo. In addition, the £ has held its own v the euro and has advanced nicely against the $ so any sourcing from dollar denominated countries will see the costs falling nicely from currency gains on top of any natural economies from sourcing abroad imo. The divi increase at the interims was encouraging too - Still pays 5% this year by broker forecasts. Good possibility that they hit 10p+ imo after 18% eps growth in H1. 20% growth and a 5% yield on a PE below 10 seems cheap to me. CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2004 16:59 | Hi CR Just in case the men in white coats come and take you away for talking to yourself ;-) Yes that seems to be a most satisfactory breakout today, long may it continue. I see that the house broker is going for 9p eps this year and 11.2 next. As long as the debt continues to go down in the same fashion as recently, then this one still looks decent value IMHO. | cwa1
12/1/2004 15:56 | That's a breakout then :-) CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2004 15:51 | Pushing for a breakout - new high coming by the looks. CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2004 10:51 | I'm beginning to really like this stock, cheap, cracking yield and quietly rising while the market sleeps. Up again today - year end the end of Jan - a nice trading statement will see these motor imo. Interims sounded nicely upbeat. CR | cockneyrebel
09/1/2004 14:37 | Creeping up by stealth. CR | cockneyrebel
08/1/2004 12:39 | Year end the end of Jan - a nice trading statement perhaps? Sourcing from overseas has started to sdee benefits a la Hornby/Mayborn. 18.8% eps growth H1, director buying at 84p recently, 5.5%+ yield. Gearing down from 89% to 61% at H1. Inventories down. I think these are under-rated myself. CR | cockneyrebel
10/12/2003 12:39 | I think these may be extremely oversold myself - results may look rather good. Icreased margins and strong expectations from the autumn catalogue bode rather well. Director buying just backs that up imo. CR | cockneyrebel
09/12/2003 16:13 | Moving up today - added a few more. Outsourcing abroad has that Hornby, Mayborn feeling to me about it. %%+ yield and 20%+ growth in H1, PE 8-9. I think the downside must be negligable - upside rather potential. On a risk/reward basis it looks a decent buy to me. CR | cockneyrebel
05/12/2003 20:13 | I am not speculating. Hey guys, we will discuss this in April. Till then bye. | rhameed
05/12/2003 13:55 | With Alexandra switching from manufacturing in the UK to importing i can only see their profits growing infact with the exchange rate on the dollar anything they are buying from outside the EU they should be paying atleast 8% less than they were last year. They have already said they have improved operating margins in the intrim results and if they have bought their dollars forward for 2004 which i am sure a company like Alexandra would have done, i can only see things getting even better. I think the share price will grow along with the divi up to £1.40 in 1 to 2 years and i will buy more on any weakness. | dcd
04/12/2003 17:32 | Yep - directors who know the company well love blowing £20K for the fun of it - blow the money, lets be a hero ah? CR | cockneyrebel
04/12/2003 16:13 | It's all fairy tale. Guys make the most of current high value. Trust me on this !. | rhameed
04/12/2003 11:36 | Agreed CR, very good value, backed up by a show of faith-in reasonable size-from the recent director purchase, this gives me belief that things must be firmly on track......excellent news | cwa1
04/12/2003 11:11 | Director doubles holding from 25K to 50K Seems cheap this stock with 20% growth in H1 and the company saying the Autumn catalogue should have a positive impact on H2. PE 8 or less? And a 5.5% yield ! CR | cockneyrebel
08/10/2003 22:20 | I'm a trader, not an investor. I'll be here until the resistance or the momentum drops. I ALWAYS have a min of a 10% target. SM | supermum
08/10/2003 17:29 | Supermum & Sandbank, Are you just in for the short term to ride out the momentum or do you have longer term interests at heart. I bought in at 85.85 following the results and am pleasantly surprised to see 5% profit already. I initially bought as the dividend yield was attractive, is increasing at a reasonable pace and the company is doing all it can to pay down debt and increase dividned cover. If this is going to 100p of higher in the short term then I'll be more than happy. | hyden |
