03/10/2011 11:59 | Production guidance for December quarter for Simberi is expected to be at lower end of the 14,000-18,000 range, while repairs are made to the ball mill due to failure of the pinion gear shaft and damage to the air clutch over the weekend of 1st and 2nd October 2011. Mill repairs are expected to take 10-14 days over the quarter as replacement parts are delivered and progressively installed. Although a full technical assessment has yet to be completed, the initial cost of repairs is estimated to be approximately US$500,000. from the latest RNS should only be a small problem and with gold prices about to go up again, i think this could create a good opportunity to top up. 29/9/2011 16:01 | Aye - probably because it moved from AIM to Main Market after the June review it was not included in the Small Cap Index I suspect. | enami
29/9/2011 14:53 | Enami - Interesting that ALD wasn't mentioned in the original September review but was added (in top place) to the reserve afterwards in an amended list. | boadicea
29/9/2011 12:54 | boadicea- there is a reserve list from which the highest capitalisation company is promoted should there be any deletions from an index (highest at the time of the deletion announcement, not the review). Announcements are made here - click on index changes | enami
29/9/2011 12:12 | Enami - Great news. Was it expected so soon? (I had assumed it was likely at the next regular review.) | boadicea
29/9/2011 09:31 | Promoted to FTSE250 effective 3 October. Avis Europe (UK B693LN1) will be deleted. Allied Gold Mining (UK B44QDS0) will be added to the index with a shares in issue total of 199,755,017 and an investability weighting of 100%. | enami

23/9/2011 20:34 | I really don't know and I can only guess. I think we are in the process of seeing a net transfer of stock to London now that this is a UK registered company. This would result in a differential of an amount that made ASX to LSE arbitrage worthwhile - probably 2 or 3% in stable markets but possibly higher in current volatility. The reason for the stock becoming relatively less popular in Oz since migration of company domicile to UK may be fundamental, or it might just be a matter of perception. You may know more than I do about the rules applicable to institutional holdings in Oz. The main recent price movements seem to have had institutional origins in London connected with the FT Index inclusion. This could be repeated at next review if FT250/350 status is achieved. I do also note the following comment in the original RNS announcement of the Scheme of Arrangement - "The potential advantages and disadvantages of the proposal will be discussed in the explanatory statement. The proposal may also have taxation implications for Allied shareholders." Hence there may be tax reasons behind some of the moves but I don't know who (or where) was adversely affected. PS: "Running on the spot" will do just fine for the moment! | boadicea
23/9/2011 08:20 | Boadicea, any theory about why ALD in OZ is trading at quite a discount to UK as closed at 190p equiv ? | arja
21/9/2011 12:55 | running on the spot in last few days but UK seems to be lead market based on volume levels . | arja

20/9/2011 09:50 | A final plea to ALL shareholders who have not contacted us to please do so TODAY, we may not have much time in which to act. Harry Wang still will not engage, yet the bigger our collective vote the better our chances. We are fighting for you all. The news of the 9th may be an attempt to devalue our asset & claim the mine is not profitable, we strongly dispute this & need to push very hard NOW. JNMC cannot be trusted, they have already managed to suspend the stock & anything is possible. We must get them to talk before the review news comes out, which will likely be this week. Email us at albidon.action[##]ho To all that have done so already: thank you! | nur0mancer

19/9/2011 10:21 | juju43. yes, it was obvious it would fall in oz after it closed in uk on friday well below OZ close on same day but the size of the fall surprised me a little . But the spike to 400 was just that and index buying which got out of hand I suppose . chart support in oz was about 325 and hopefully it will pick up if gold holds up . | arja
