COMPANIES: UK & IRELAND: Sheridan's IMS heads for Aim

IMS, a specialist in providing subtitles to the film and television industries, is to announce today its flotation on Aim. The company has been built during the past 13 years by Syliva Sheridan, the first woman to be appointed to the Council of the British Board of Film Classification. As the sole owner, she will realise about £2.5m from the listing and retain a 60 per cent stake.

The company, which will have a market valuation of £15m, is raising a net £2.8m to pay down debt through a placing at 57½p a share. Corporate Synergy, its adviser, is forecasting sales to rise to £7.3m this year and £9.6m in 2005, generating profits of £400,000 and £2.2m respectively. Dealings begin next Thursday.
