28/4/2004 23:05 | Judgement so i am not allowed to ask people to convince me, but HUGEPANTS on CFP thread has been posting incessantly asking: - HugePants - 27 Apr'04 - 15:57 View 'HugePants' profile Its battle of the Capitals!! To my mind ANC beats CFP hands down. In fact I cant think of any reason why Id buy CFP instead of ANC. ANC has a smaller market cap and a much stronger balance sheet. If any CFP holders can make a decent case as to why I should sell my ANC shares and buy CFP then please do so! | the jaberman
28/4/2004 23:02 | Jaberman, it's not worth buying, in fact it's rubbish and a waste of good money. Is that better? If you don't wish to buy ANC, then don't. I don't think anyone would like to persuade you to do anything against your better judgement. | judgement
28/4/2004 22:39 | no one willing to answer as to y i should purchase this, i shouldnt cos: - 1. better value elsewhere in sector 2. this is overhyped 3. no volume today or this month at all 4. no buying going on 5. no city interest 6. no momentum even in a bull market 7. other companies are acquiring clients left right and centre and making profits no one on here seems to know anything | the jaberman
28/4/2004 20:27 | Simon i can post on here if i like, like people from this thread post on others, i want to know why this is worth buying, still no one can give me a straight answer. | the jaberman
28/4/2004 20:09 | The JaberMan - Why don't you go to another BB if you are not interested. If you did your research properly you would know that ANC effectively demerged their investments as Bionex and Redstone shares to shareholders over a year ago. That represented 2/3p of the price at the time and was excellent value for those shareholders who bought in at 5p or so. They have another 5p in cash. Finally, momentum investing gets risky when the market is toppy or moving sideways.. and that's what has happened for the last 3 months or so. | simonevans
28/4/2004 20:05 | ntv im an investor, cfp is not my ONLY stock, but yes it was down but still over 170% up from where i bought!!! i have researched ANC and would NOT buy into it, end of story, no one has "convinced" me otherwise. | the jaberman

28/4/2004 16:00 | The Jaberman - they are not meant to be an investment company any longer, they have sold or divested most of the previous holdings. | optimist at large
28/4/2004 15:59 | Huge - tx , gone away to do some reading now. | india93
28/4/2004 15:50 | ""They currently have very few investments. "" that says it all stay away imho | the jaberman
28/4/2004 15:41 | india93 They currently have very few investments. Most of the balance sheet is cash. They do have small stakes in some listed companies including Multi-Group (worth around 350K just now) and a small number of unlisted investments. You should phone up the compnay for the recent annual report. A proportion of the cash will go into the MountCashel hedge fund of which they own 25%. The fully owned stockbroking , advisory subsidiary is Corporate Synergy. cheers. | hugepants
28/4/2004 15:34 | no nothing doing. | the jaberman
28/4/2004 15:34 | has anyone got a breakdown of the investments and their value in the accounts please ? tia | india93
28/4/2004 15:33 | not interested, this is going nowhere. better prospects elsewhere, i suggest holders sell and make the most of the bull run elsewhere, . remember there is money to be made. so move into momentum stocks | the jaberman
28/4/2004 15:31 | JaberMan I think we holders have to be patient. Looks good value though considering the large revenue increase, the cash backing and 'group trading profitably' comment in the results. dyor etc. | hugepants
28/4/2004 15:29 | no volume here whatsoever, i can see people going into others for action. all imho | the jaberman
