Found the problem and was able to buy.

It appears that due to the present uncertainty and bargain prices with some financial and property stocks, dealers are not happy to deal on a 10 day settlement period, but on advice from TD Waterhouse I put the order in on a 3 day settlement, and it was immediately executed.

Also bought more CTT stock as both are tipped in this weeks SHARES Mag, tips which I agree with knowing both stocks over a long period.

yes - also with TD Waterhouse. Think it is a Broker Issue, and not the underlying shares.

Tried to buy 8,000 yesterday 4.10pm at 162p, L2 showed around 35,000 on offer at 162p, but my broker TD. Waterhouse didn't buy, and after asking why, they said there was a problem dealing. Has anyone else had a problem buying?

focus1800 - I'm in long term + a small bet.

I have great faith in the management but the market is not very friendly towards financial institutions at the moment.

This new acquisition of these German Property Investment Managers, I presume they are buying cheap in the downward cycle of the property market - bwtfdik

but, they also said....will it change sentiment? answering with......not necessarily............time to buy...or time to wait? buy, yes, but decisive decision is.........now or next week..or next....or next ...or even next lol..............answer is somehow locked into that vague statement..lol

"Aberdeen's profits are expected to jump by 30% or so - a decent result in troubled times"
