The only way they could show an exchange loss is if they were accounting exchange on a monthly basis, even then loss would have been tiny. If they calculated at period end with $1.50/£1 then gain would be around £500k.
Must admit, for a trading update, its a tad on the obscure side. Could be good, could be average, certainly not poor.
Will have to wait for results for a clearer picture.

ZOO Digital Group plc
("ZOO" or "The Group")
Trading Update and Directorate Change
ZOO Digital, the provider of software and software-led services for the filmed
entertainment market, is pleased to provide shareholders with a trading update
ahead of its audited full year results and to announce a change in the
Chairmanship of the company.
The company expects to report turnover for the 12 months ended 31 March 2010 of
circa $15m and EBITDA (excluding exchange losses) of circa $1.6m, both
significantly ahead of market expectations and the prior year. The company
expects to make an exceptional provision for the impairment of intangible assets
of around $0.8m. In addition, the company expects to report a year-end cash
position of $1.2m, which is significantly better than market expectations.
The company also announces that Dr Christopher Honeyborne has decided, in line
with best practice, that he should stand down from the board after ten years as
a non-executive Director of ZOO, during the last four years of which he has been
Chairman. Following a thorough selection process ZOO is pleased to announce that
Dr Honeyborne will be succeeded by Mr Roger Jeynes who has over 20 years
experience in the technology sector, encompassing senior sales, marketing and
general management roles in the UK, Italy and the USA with IBM, Pyramid
Technology Inc., and EMC Corporation. His most recent executive position was
Chief Operating Officer at technology merchant bank Interregnum Plc through
which he worked on the boards of more than a dozen technology companies.
Disclosures required pursuant to Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules for Companies in
respect of Roger Jeynes are set out below.

The change of chairman will take effect from 28 April 2010.
Stuart Green, CEO of ZOO, commented, "I am delighted with this performance in a
very tough economic climate. Our ability to deliver outstanding quality software
to reduce our clients' costs and time to market is more compelling than it has
ever been. On behalf of the board I would like to thank Christopher for his
excellent stewardship and wisdom over the last decade."
Christopher Honeyborne, Chairman of ZOO commented, "I am very pleased with the
progress that ZOO has made and I leave confident that the company is well placed
for continued, profitable expansion in the future."

jj7, well it looks like ZOO are heading in the right direction - for now. I hope there is more to it than the RHPS tip and good news from ZOO follows to underpin the recent strong rise. I am being greedy here but one pound by the end of 2010 would suit me just fine! OK, I'm dreaming! Good luck all.

well its going it the right direction fast. which is nice for holders.. only wish i had took more, could have had more at 20p ish. and simply expected further dips when it was around 15p and didnt have bodgits faith at that time... I reckon with interest, good update 50p mark could be quite reasonable.

The other ZOO website lists directors. If they were a subsidiary I would expect to see at least 1 main board director on its board. I don't recognise any of the names.

Well, it doubled in the space of 2 weeks, so I'm friends with mine again!

Ideally, we'd get a higher high out of this run. Could happen.

I'm long anyway, waiting for next results...

Could bag for the patient ( = 40p in my case ).

RHPS? Not surprising...

the RHPS tip is very clear. The tip is for ZOO with 21.3m shars in issue at 23/28p.

i can't see how it can't be this stock?

just how many software/dvd AIM stocks have the epic ZOO,21.3m shares and are around the 23/28p price they tipped them at ?

Pork Belly, Thanks for that. I suggest you check the web site below. This is not as far as I can see the ZOOTech / ZOO Digital I am invested in and which this BB is about. That said, I have no idea if ZOO Digital Studios Ltd is the company working with Sky but I do note that they are into CGIs whereas I do not believe 'our' ZOO is.

Can anyone else throw any light on just who is doing the Sky work because I am confused.

Wrong Zoo mate! Zoo Digital Studios has, AFAIK no relationship with this Zoo. Happy to be proven wrong. Good luck all.

RHPS tipped Zoo Digital (ZOO) this weekend. They tipped them at 23/28 and say there are 21.3m shares in issue, the same as Zootech. They go on about them beimng a software/DVD business, the same as here.

The header above also says:

ZOO digital group... now primarily ZOOTECH a company devoted purely to the provision of software for the creation of interactive DVD and related automated dvd menu creation software.

Also, if you google Zootech it directs you to the Zoo Digital website.

How many other AIM stocks have the epic ZOO+ 21.3m shares + trading at 23/28 and are a software/dvd business?

Zootech/Zoo Digital (ZOO) are one and the same, Tipped by RHPS.
