have you read it magnet...? yes, this needs an injection of news, or else it will be news of a bad nature that will be out, the longer no more deals, the more chance of another cash call, (there wasn't a huge margin of free cashflow available) but I reckon that the next cash call would be a very difficult one, especially with directors helping out mainly with last one, which in a way as resulted in the companies bad position due to being strangled by convertible loans and interest on these. At least they are getting good interest whilst PI's get shafted again. I hope it turns around, but based on risk/reward would only start getting interested again in single figures.
But also, as intimated one does not know how much the actual dvd/entertainment market has dropped back... one thing I think is certain is that it isnt actually advancing at this stage.

jacob: interest is totally zero right now,

the company has been interviewed by another source, (early march)
the trouble is you have to pay to read the full article, as you have access
to more than 100 other companies too,

i think they needed something to bolster revenues/cash burn, we knew that there was no profit to look forward to this year... and its a question do they ask for more money in the meantime, or do they get more deals that hopefully prevents this. but there is also question marks over the actual margin on the work they have actually got... seem to be giving it away. Its a shame, as zoo has perennially promised and shown potential since 2003.

it might be a bit late in the financial year but in the last month the dollar has strengthened nicely against the british pound, it could make a small difference to the uk side of the business, (expenses, wages etc)

megavideo is free for 70 minutes viewing then you have to wait another 50 minutes to see the end,"unless you skip foreward now and again" if you take the premium option then viewing is continuous,
some sites experience problems on some movies due to infringement rights,
and the quality is not as good unless you pay, nevertheless most sites on here are free everything does not always run smoothly tho, some break down due to outside interference
and on one or two others there are threats to your computer, but ok if you have the right protection,

Dope007...The legality of streaming is pretty irrelevant to most users. A site can open in any jurisdiction, from Panama to Russia, a user connects anonymously and watches a stream. There is no risk as no other user can see their IP address (its not like filesharing).
An example of such a site:
Or for TV series:

Streaming may prove to be to DVD what mp3 is to CD.

That rulling on streaming films was just the ISP so I guess that moves the risk of litigation from the ISP to the end user of the illegal download. Could be interesting....

Always the way that technology makes fundamental changes to purchasing . I have kids in their twenties and one at 16. None have bought a music cd. Wouldnt matter how low the prices fell, they simply use mp3 players and do not even own a cd player. For that market the cd as a product has no future.
Film DVD's are a slightly different proposition but the number of free film streaming sites where you can for example watch a perfect copy of pre released Avatar does make you wonder how quickly the DVD market will resemble the CD one.
Its unlikely that downloading a file to copy a disk will have much mileage as the sheer size of the files, especially the Blueray files make the time and effort involved prohibitive. More likely is the increasing growth in watching streamed films for free. There are still a few hiccups to be sorted, the main one being an easier mainstream route for streaming from pc to tv's and a slight increase in streamed quality, but it must only be a question of time.
Interesting has been the death of the video rental stores, it can't be that everybody is buying cheap films at markets, its also unlikely that low cost films in supermarkets are the prime cause as major titles still command a premium and video shops were always about hiring new titles. Perhaps streaming is already a larger force than many think.
Certainly in the short term the market is working in ZOO's favour but it is hard to see visibility in their earnings even 5 years ahead.
Bound to be a trade in ZOO at some point but that loan is like a millstone and timing will be everything. Could even be a case where illiquidity prevents trading completely and it will only be a curiosity stock, one that may bounce but the odds always make it a poor trade to attempt again.
A boring post on a boring day :)

its a combination of changing market place for entertainment products, low confidence in company achieving ongoing profitability... and waiting for the transformation deal that might achieve this, meanwhile money running out IMO.
Sorry, but thats why I'm not in until something positive shows, to guard against the negative catching me out..(again) once bitten.. (or should i say mauled!)

only redeeming factor for zoo is the that the share price has been way more resliant than I ever imagined at this level. Case of waiting whichever avenue we go down I suppose. But one is a lock in, the other on the way up would be flexible to get in.

if they take the greed factor out of new releases, then dvd sales would be better, zoo's tech (if it ever moves into another studio as part of its infrastructure) will help bring the costs down to do this, give the punters a sensible priced package it would be hardly worth the illegal downloaders messing about...
I personally can't find the balls to get back in here, being not in, has been a lot better for my health and wealth. But reckon on a knife edge as to what the next RNS will be... cash call/new deal. As usual with zoo it seems that close a ratio between one or the other, historically we have had more of the former than the illusive latter.

downloading and streaming are not quite the same but nevertheless
film studios are having a hard time in the courts,

Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Hollywood's biggest movie studios, including Walt Disney Co. and Paramount Pictures, lost a suit seeking to stop customers of Australia's Iinet Ltd. from illegally downloading movies in a ruling that may set a precedent for the industry.
