05/2/2021 15:15 | He seemed to suggest that he and the CFO's history would be enough to convince some investors that they could succeed in preventing the ship from sinking, where others had failed, not only that he like his previous directors might also just sail away into the sunset and end up blaming COVID19, as they really liked to use the slide to emphasize the impact of the virus. It seems to me that he is banking on his old pals act with the contact at Amazon and it is though that come the summer the virus will be a thing of the past. We could well be hit with all sorts of other strains or mutations that might cause new lockdowns and as it is travel might become a lot more costly for film crews etc, if they have to hole up in hotels for 10 days or so before they can start work in other countries. Maybe they should consider making a program based on "Did China weaponize the Virus for economic purposes, and what might be the long term effects" | clocktower
05/2/2021 14:49 | I was more impressed, if this did not have such a dreadful history I think the actions taken would have been seen far more positively. I think he has a real grip on the business and when more business arrives numbers will move quite quickly. I am unsure of what worried you about payments, the key is understanding whether a customer pays quickly or not, if slow then factoring is relatively cheap. I am very reassured by the financial backing of its largest shareholder without this it would be v risky. The industry is seeing consolidation so this could be a target. As with all recovery stocks hard to value but when you add in the large tax losses this looks cheap v quickly as revenue increases. Dyor | slicethepie
05/2/2021 14:00 | Not sure those were both sells. I can buy at 60.89p right now. | 1gw
05/2/2021 12:25 | Since the start of the presentation there have been two sells, maybe he turned a couple off. 1. He admitted they still do not have sufficient work to make the company profitable. 2. They are taking on more staff, mainly it seems in sales 3. The issues he raised about payments for work undertaken are very concerning indeed. 4. Likes to wave his hands around when talking. 5. When he spoke of comments on Blogs it suggested to me he follows the thread. 6. In fairness though he accepted the very critical comments that one poster in particular has posted on this thread, or so it seemed to me. 7. Hence new CTO in June I guess. Still a long way to go it seems and unlikely to recover for at least two years, if ever. If this were a large company I would take a short position, in light of his comments. | clocktower
05/2/2021 11:59 | Another good, confident performance I thought - clearly trying hard to tell it how it is. For shareholders, it means having to wait nervously through 1H to see what further hits the covid restrictions might land, before hopefully seeing things pick up meaningfully in 2H and into next year. Undeniably an element of jam tomorrow about it, but that's what turnarounds are about, isn't it? | 1gw

03/2/2021 11:47 | I have registered and intend to watch. I thought the last one was very good, in terms of presentation, except for the technical glitch. | 1gw
03/2/2021 09:01 | I have registered so unless something else comes up that is more productive I will watch the presentation and let you know. | clocktower
03/2/2021 08:50 | Well watch and let me know what you think | toffeeman
03/2/2021 07:49 | Judging by what you say about his previous performance, it sounds it’s going to be a bit of a limp event, maybe there might be a few questions that will help put a bit of life into it, and just maybe he has had a bit of coaching how to performer in front of a camera. Maybe a member of his staff follows this BB Toffee, and if so might report that one of his shareholders thinks he is a weak perform, so you never know he might swallow a little blue pill to help him perform this time. | clocktower
02/2/2021 16:24 | I don't think he is a great performer (I watched the last one) - the thing is that Zinc should have been creaming it over the lockdowns and I don't think they have been. Programmes are being produced, directed and edited remotely and so no need for big head office with equipment and overheads. Not sure how the board adds any value. If my shares were outside my SIPP and ISA, I would have sold and offset the loss against gains elsewhere to reduce CGT liability. Fortunately Zin is a very small part of the portfolio so I will probably leave and forget (not rational I know). | toffeeman
02/2/2021 16:00 | Hi Toffee, Good to hear from you and your thoughts on their skills when it comes to predictions. If they had told you that the share would be 60p when investing at sub 1p you would have questioned it but because they would have failed to tell you how they were going to do that, allows them to make it look like there has been progress if ant investor failed to DYOR and realise there was massive dilution. :-) Still, I signed up to see how good a performer he is, as I guess it is the forerunner to another fund raise. What is your take on it? | clocktower
02/2/2021 14:19 | I have registered, looks very interesting. I have struggled to find genuine recovery stocks as a lot have so much already baked in. The positives for me are turnaround from badly ( financially) run business to sensible, covid bounce as activity returns, strong supportive share register and well financed. Hard to judge how the covid recovery will pan out timing wise but looks well placed for the recovery. I note also the start of corporate activity in this space. Dyor. | slicethepie
02/2/2021 14:19 | Hi Clock I haven't signed up yet - not sure what the point is - they ain't gonna tell me the share price will be 200 in three months :) Best | toffeeman
02/2/2021 14:07 | Seems there is not much interest in the stock of late and todays RNS. Has anyone registered for the presentation? I posted on the thread started by dave4545 without realising that it was a new thread but I noticed lpl1 had been moderated, so I thought I would pop in here also. Any idea why lpl1 was moderate on the new thread? | clocktower

14/1/2021 13:16 | I'm probably the only person on this thread who is a TV Producer and knows some of these people personally. There's certainly talent at Zinc but they're considered "Old Hat" in the industry, especially Creative Head Roy Ackerman, who's definitely had his day. Most Commissioning Editors are half Roy's age. I once had the chance to buy Zinc's shares but luckily demurred. | lpl1
