Wise imo Toffeeman, nice increase today on only a very tiny volume.

Toffeeman, wait for a profit, as I can envisage this reaching double it`s current level but it may take a little while but worth hanging in longer after all this time I suggest. IMO only no advice intended.

After a quick read, the two highlights (one financial, one operational) for me are perhaps the following:

"All six divisions are currently forecasting to be profitable in 2021, based on current revenue projections and the revised cost base following the savings program, compared to only two achieving divisional profitability in 2018/19."

"There are four multi-million pound returning series currently in commissioned development with National Geographic and a commissioned development has been secured for the next series for producer Norma Percy with the BBC."

Doesn't seem to take much to move it (up) at the moment.

Well Toffeeman, with yesterdays RNS and the recent climb in the share price you may yet see it back to 80p imo but not one for me now. Good luck.

Seeing a little interest in the stock of recent, I thought I would pop in and see any posts floating around.

Very nice to see such a honest post from lpl1.

Cannot be long before ZIN issue an update I guess.

Fellow Bloggers - I'm signing out of this thread now, but want to end my short tenure by being transparent - I was a business partner of Zinc plc and Roy Ackerman & Karen Edwards two senior execs, treated me unethically, as your fellow threader GW knows so well. In fact, it was my recommendation to GW that he buy Zinc shares in the first place. When Zinc ripped me off, GW lent me some money (repaid in full). I've said my piece and wish you all well with your investments in this poor excuse for a Television Producer.

Agreed GW - we all know the history, we all know that they are a limited scope micro cap but they do produce some good content which deserves some credit. They have made some useful hires, streamlined and focussed and made efforts to address margin so I'm prepared to give this team the benefit of the doubt. For now!

Let them sue me!

Don't be so narrow minded.

I obviously didn't mean it literally - just going by what others have indicated on this thread:

"That the Board are using Shareholders' money to live high on the hog".

Apologise for upsetting your sensibilities.

Personally I think it remains an interesting turnaround play, despite being buffeted by the Covid19 headwinds.

In the 27th July TU they give encouraging guidance ("further positions the Group to be..."):
o Profitable from 2021
o Cash generative in 2H 2021

While there's an element of "jam tomorrow" about that, we are not all that far from 2021. They also say they have closed the CSR business which accounts for a substantial amount of the Group's losses (in the 12 months to June 2020) - so that will help with profitability in 2021, although I guess it may result in some exceptional charges this year.

I still can't explain the spike to around 90p on 27th and the odd (middle of the day) timing. It looks like a bit of a short squeeze, although you'd have to be brave to short such a small company whose share trading is so illiquid, so I'd be surprised if there was much of a short position out there.

But if the shareprice is going to settle at around the current level for a while, that is a pretty good move from the pre-TU position.

In what way? If you are accusing the company of being fraudulent in some way that is quite an allegation to make on a public bulletin board.

I do not claim to be as expert as others on this thread, but Zinc feels to me like a Ponzi Scheme......

Delivering "WHAT"???

Surely not Global Returnable Series.

A few sales to C5 and Smithsonian do not produce the kind of Global Rights income Super-indies need to sustain themselves in these difficult (Coronavirus) times......

Chance would be a fine thing symbiote, I think the management are content to live off shareholders while they can, as it`s far less effort than having to earn your living.

Jam tomorrow but for whom, even if by CHANCE the wind would change direction.

Despite my pessimism based on this stock's history my biggest concern is that it finally gets bought out (mbo or other)at a "generous" premium over its net cash amount now that it has a decent chance of delivering.

Going back down as quick as it went up. Really don't think the trading update warranted such a large increase yesterday. Reckon a lot of holders noticing yesterday's rise and will sell now
