A good rise for starters .... me hopes. A few days a of big trades this week left me expecting an RNS saying we have a big selller leading to a falling SP, Or a buyer. No RNS as yet but we do have the upward movement.

Sickening. But what is causing the fall ?. Weak soft commodities prices can only be a small % of the SP's fall from circa 35p. Any ideas anyone ?. Cheers.

Hi Rotors, From memory the Presidential elections are May 2015 although i also can not see a link to confirm this. A long ways away but it just felt to me that Pres Sata was turning into Pres Mugabe and Zambeef was on his hit-list. I must be wrong as Zambia as just raised $1bln through a Sovereign Bond issue which give confidence in the country's politics. Regards.

Morning Tenapen, welcome back. I cannot find any election date online - when is it roughly? Do you think it is critical to Zambeef? Still long, think this has good prospects in the longer term.

Morning cyfran, Yes bought some yesterday but only a fraction of what i held before. On a risk v reward basis, for me 20p was a good price. Re my earlier posts about not buying back in until after the Zambian election. Never say never - lesson learned.

dont buy zambian beef African Swine Fever Whilst the Group's animals have not been affected by the outbreak of African Swine Fever in Zambia, the government-imposed restrictions on the movement of pigs and the sale of pork products, which lasted for approximately three months until mid-February 2014, have significantly impacted performance at Master Pork. The Group anticipates a return to normal trading and profitability in the second half of the year for the Pork Products division, although these factors have resulted in the business being well behind management expectations in the first half of the year.

Every year the BoD have a list of 'reasons' aka 'excuses', why they missed the targets they set. This year the markets quite rightly hammered them. If Mr Francis Grogan, Chief Executive Officer of Zambeef is African Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 then i do not think there is much hope for Africa just now. Looks like the share price in Lusaka went up yesterday it was 3.5Kw on Friday and today 3.9Kw ! interesting.
