I don't understand what's confusing. The placing price is £2.23 and the retail shares are the same - it's the third and fourth paragraph of the announcement:

The Placing Shares will be placed at a fixed price of £2.23 per Placing Share (the "Placing Price").

The Retail Shares will be offered at the Placing Price.

Seems a pretty weird offer - Placing for institutions at a fixed price of £2.23 and the a separate Retail Placing with no pricing, no number of shares mentioned. What do they expect us to do - have faith in a Uranium trader FFS?

Anyone know how this works in practice - closes in 1h 30m.

Interesting news out.....having only recently completed a significant share buy-back YCA are now raising $110m through a placing.....£2.23 which seems ok to me....

Am especially pleased to see this does include a retail offer......so I'm certainly going to be participating

Rather counter-intuitive to see U308 down to $28.6, down nearly 16% from May'20 level of $34. Certainly a headwind for YCA; and makes one wonder just why they had that run up to over 240p earlier this month.

Many will have sold into that strength; and will be looking to rejoin the game again back nearer the 220p level.

Ah, that goes with the territory gb.

Some people can be pretty aggressive, following others and constantly being critical or objectionable. Others like to leave a calling card such as a downtick.

I think on a passive/aggressive scale, this is Quite Passive, and it's all fine with me

What can be more disheartening than somebody like bmcb5 go to a great deal of effort setting up an additional board covering all u308 companies to assist the sane ones amongst us,then to have his post marked down is a disgrace, that individual should be ashamed of themselves.

There's no doubt about that renewable is going to have a lot of money thrown at it over the coming decade. What sinks and what rises is still unknowable. I think we'll see that nuclear will need to take up the slack as a proven method of substantial power generation. To use the Churchill quote: you can always count on them doing the right thing after they have tried everything else.

Oh... and the EV revolution is going to need substantial extra electricity generation. Where is that coming from...

I'm in for a small amount. A few compelling reasons, the share price below NAV, the carbon emission goals set by almost every developed / large developing nation make nuclear the only rational solution, the commodity and inflation trends and a secure company that are basically an easy buy in to the market.

Ah, drop 'FT Japan says nuclear crucial to hitting net zero goal by 2050' and you may be able to see it... Or open a free account which allows for a handful of articles per month.

Interesting comments from Japan's Energy Minister in this FT article - essentially highlighting that electricity prices shot up last month when heavy snowfall hit, wind and solar was not producing anywhere near enough energy, and the country was on the brink of widespread power cuts. Essentially saying nuclear power is indispensable and he is trying to persuade everyone that nuclear is needed. Only 9 of 60 reactors have been restarted since Fukushima.
