The more someone tries to justify their opinion by saying they have 'experience', the less likely I am to listen. Either the points you make stand up to scrutiny, or they don't. Anything beyond that just makes you sound insecure.

Wow. We are really honoured to have amongst us such a high powered investor insider who advises top companies on their investment strategies.
I think it is incredibly kind and thoughtful of lurker5 to be prepared to spend his valuable time helping us out.
I think comc has now become redundant now we have a real expert here.

Div. I think he meant the total diameter of the deposit (assuming a 'carrot' shape) found by the drill holes needs to be 430m. I'm sure your typo fingers must have been wandering.

Lurker5, perhaps I should have also addressed my last post to you for an update, also. Apologies.

Mr Qaz - etc. I don't need to prove my track record to you. I don't lie. Those who are institutional investors know on what platform(s) my research was published and under what name. You might also like to know that my experience in quality of stockmarket research was called on by two major FTSE 100 companies to assess what had ben published (by major brokers) on themselves. It had fallen short in significant ways. You might also like to know (which if you were 'experienced' you would) that there are two breeds of analysts in the market. Those not competent enough or honest enough to act for the 'buy' side of institutions and who therefore keep under the radar. And the others who work for brokers 'puffing' their own clients' shares. It is the latter who dominate knowledge (wrong word) on most AIM and many major miners. It is the former whose recommendations (much more than by chance) turn out right.

And, Diddy, what I've said here shows you are wrong. Successful institutions may consider generics. But they perform due diligence on specifics to ensure they dodge the 'generic' 'duds'.

Very true, TD. Many AIM and Standard List stocks (SYME for instance) are fantasies and some even turn out to be downright frauds. I was sceptical about XTR at first mainly because of what's been critically written about Colin Bird and his "stable" of explorers (XTR, BZT, GLR, etc) and his apparently constant placings. However raising cash is, unfortunately, a necessity for an explorer without an adequate source of revenue and placings are a more honest approach than a "death spiral" funding.
You rightly state, TD, that the news flow from XTR over the last 12 months, or so, has been behind the big rise in the sp, rather than bb ramping (which I ignore anyway)

CoMC, do you believe that the average diameter of holes drilled into the Cu porphyries at BR so far are in the order of 430m? This was the number that John Cornford calculated would be required to reach the 2mT contained Cu threshold, over a mineralised length of some 940m.

Lurker 5 you will see that elsewhere on these BBs I am deeply cynical about AIM stocks. That said you cannot write off all AIM stocks on the basis that some are flawed.

Investment is about generic decisions on markets and trends and specific decisions on companys.

The reassessment of XTR is not driven by BB warriors, but by news, and there has been a lot of it (but the critical information has not yet been received).

Well I've learnt a lot by reading TCofMC's knowledgeable posts. He has been proved correct on XTR so far. Let's hope his future predictions prove to be as accurate. I believe they will be.

Mr Dibs I've been deeply researching mining with my own publication for institutions for nearly 20 years. 2/3rds of my (nearly 100) detailed recommendations have been to sell/take a profit (reflecting the proportion of mining shares which turn out to be overvalued) and over 90% of them correct. I'm not saying XTR has reached its potential yet. I'm telling you that caution is always warranted when you see an AIM miner soaring away under the impetus of pi's on bulletin boards ! So I'll thank you to keep your opinions to yourself.

Hurts to think I did not use the long-presented opportunities to top up and average down here at below 4p. It is partially offset by the fact that I have quite a good portion of my portfolio in this one, but still, looking at the dogs I was putting my money into instead of this beauty...Oh well, now the task is not to sell to soon - also, the one I am not good at:)

CofMC, I really appreciate your posts and have definitely learned a lot (Much more to learn) As I said before I jumped in here with a small investment after a heads up from Brasso from the PPC thread (where we have both long suffered). My note to self is to learn much more about copper porphyry's. This is pretty exciting times and my first foray into Metals mining.

Colin Bird suggested the Bushranger project could have a life of 70+ years, he knows what's there but he is restricted from opening up fully because of market regulations.

He also said in the presentation, right near the end, that XTR's Eureka copper project in Zambia would justify the current m/cap on it's own, on that basis this giant potentially world class copper project named Bushranger is in the price for free !

Something to ponder over.
