Actually it is, because it adds value to the project, anything that decreases or increase the value of the project is of the utmost importance if we are here to make money. We want to get a premium price for the asset when it is sold, things like landuse rights and water are all stacked in our favour when compared to other globally significant new copper projects, as is the local infrastructure and labour skills. They all add value. Some mines don't get built because they have NO water, AURA are drilling for water because without enough of it they can't get the uranium mine started. We will start to hear more from CB and the team about all of this as the project progresses, because they know what it means. IMHO, DYOR.

With the right wind behind it, this project could fetch half a billion dollars or more, far surpassing my own estimates of around 250-400. The clock is ticking.

gfg, based on the charts yes, but charts only take into account history and sentiment, and not new information.

Anyway, it's not something we xtr shareholders need to worry about, I think. We will be long gone from BR by that point in time.

Divmad, Bushranger is close to the Oberon dam, we have discussed it on here multiple times and it's all detailed in the April 2020 presentation. You may have missed it but I added the links to the Oberon dam on here a month ago, type in 'Oberon Dam' and you can find it and have a look and read up about it. I presume this is where 'Anglo' will get the water from for the Bushranger mine, lol:))

There is also another dam close to the project but I forget the name.

Facts & History
Oberon Dam is situated on the Fish River about 3 kilometres south of Oberon on the NSW Central Tablelands. The dam is about 190 kilometres west of Sydney.

Oberon Dam has a capacity of 45,000 megalitres, making it a medium size but important water storage because of its role in the Fish River water supply scheme. This unique regional water supply scheme is the only one in eastern Australia to transfer western flowing water east of the Great Dividing Range.

The dam is one of only seven concrete slab and buttress dams in Australia, and of these dams has the highest wall and largest storage capacity....

...Today the scheme supplies water to Wallerawang and Mount Piper power stations, to Oberon and Lithgow councils for domestic and industry use, and to more than 200 landholders along its length. It also supplements town supplies in the upper Blue Mountains.

If the price rose above 10p and XTR wanted to raise a few million $ then that would be a good thing. CB will not want dilution at the price levels he has been buying in the open market.

Steve in this case I agree that XTR's statement is reasonable, but in general AIM listed stocks are dreadful when it comes to unexpected cash calls. The XTR statement only goes as far as 'would not expect'.

Very recently I had a tiny punt on CB's other copper explorer, BZT. I bought when the price was 13p. Then on Tuesday it rose 22% on no news. Now I know why! A placing, announced today, priced at 13p. 🤣🤣
I did expect a placing since they were very low on cash.
This is probably one reason why XTR isn't higher on such good news. Many PI's are wary of a placing, though having had one earlier this year XTR's current cash position is okay.

Goforgold ... no offence but u need to manage your expectations of share price appreciation from hours and days to weeks and months Micro watching every movement each day will drive you insane and obscure the fact that the share price has gone up from 3.5p to 5.4p in just 2 months

Divmad I have only looked to chack the local rainfall. Bathurst is 20 miles or so further North and it is 28" a year. If you take a look at Google Earth you will see the water hole excavations that proliferate in the area.

Would you clarify NSW as a "water abundant area"?

Anglo have also flagged ongoing water issues impacting copper output. These draughts will increase with climate change, the impact of which will be;

1) Reduced copper output from these 'super' mines
2) Due to number 1, it will add further support to higher prices
3) It increases the costs of production - desalination factories are expensive to build and pipelines need to be built to feed the water to the remote mines
4) It focuses attention on those copper mines which have water issues and those that don't and increases the value of those new potential copper mines in water abundant areas

Yes, many thanks, TCofMC, for your excellent research. The "ongoing drought" is the first adverse problem mentioned in their latest production report released yesterday

Thanks for those links CMC - very interesting benchmarks.

Re rainfall there is c28 inches a year in Bathurst so there should be plenty of water.

Mmm. First observation is that COS 60 is half therefore horizontally 20 engages with ore 175m from the pad. That represents a very nice extension to the West.

Of the 'current' drilling CB refers to hole 22 but not 23.

I would hope that he has tested his confidence in the SE anomaly with 23.

While scratching my head I did go back to the 13 Oct hole location pdf. The two holes at 4.30 on the clockface from hole 14 indicate that they are testing both West and East at that point. It is also not unreasonable to extend it to the outlier in the East. If you visualise the inferred resource as thin. the anomaly would be fat!

I have not had a chance to go back to google earth but I am pretty sure that there was open cast activity in the other 'anomaly' to the south west on the same pdf.

I also mentioned the water issues impacting the Chilean copper producers, here is another example of that. The Bushranger project is close to two dams.

Taseko Mines (TKO) acquired the New Prosperity mine in British Columbia, Canada, in 1969. It has the potential to be one of the biggest copper mines in Canada, but still hasn't been developed. Will it ever be developed? It's doubtful. Why? It's located on native American reservation land and the tribe are opposed to it.
Luckily XTR's Australian mine will not have that problem.
