11/10/2021 22:59 | Lurker, don’t expect anyone to believe your clap trap you’re a liar. You don’t have a large holding here. If you did you’d be a complete mug given your bearish view of this stock. | ![]() dibs61
11/10/2021 22:10 | What is 'confused' about being realistic ? Or are you, if with a big holding, someone who will ramp and ramp regardless. Perhaps you should grow up. | ![]() lurker5

11/10/2021 21:11 | New posters on the 'other' side getting carried away by the looks of it. Bushranger has a long way still to go before any solid numbers. And copper price a long way below break-even on the initial scenario. So I think share progress will be erratic next six months. | ![]() lurker5

11/10/2021 16:35 | Count. Just remember that if you're hoping your project will be sold, the key metric is the TAC fom the point of view of the acquirer. If you want your own co to develop it, it will be the NPV as seen by your own co. These can be very different and some pi's don't apreciate that an acquirer won't pay anything like the latter. Also, whether via an NPV or a NAV (same thing really) the discount rate makes an enormous difference. eg at 5% the NPV will be almost double that at 8%. (depends on the life of mine) An NPV for a short life mine is much more reliable than for a long life. And very different cash flow profiles can produce the same NPV. ie an NPV is very unreliable as a guide to how the market might value the co's shares. To sum up. You're back to square one. Its almost impossible to predict what an acquirer will pay !!! (Quite apart from it will depend o the state of the markets at thetime; whether the banks are lending; whether investors generally are interested (look at the mining index from 2008 to now - and witness the enormous spike in 2011 !!)- I could go on. But I won't ! | ![]() lurker5
11/10/2021 16:03 | Look how much money AAL is throwing off, all these majors are having huge cash windfalls from the higher commodity prices, eventually this flow of money is going to go into acquisitions and takeovers. I don't think we have seen any mining companies being bought on the LSE this year, at some point that will change and we will see a glut of buying. Although I am not in CAML, I like that stock and they have said in the last RNS that they are now actively on the hunt for new potential mines. Copied from Ariane's post on the AAL bb TOP NEWS: Anglo American thinking through succession, says Cutifani Wed, 6th Oct 2021 10:31 Alliance News (Alliance News) - Anglo American PLC boss Mark Cutifani said on Wednesday it is up to the board to decide when his term will come to an end amid speculation that his exit is imminent. The board has been thinking through how it would like to handle succession planning at the sprawling mining company that owns platinum, gold, diamond and iron ore assets, Cutifani told delegates at the Mining Indaba on Wednesday. "It's in the board's hands," he said. "They will let us know when they will make a decision and how they want to go forward." Cutifani, who has been chief executive at Anglo since 2013, said he had made a commitment to the board to see the Quellaveco copper project in Peru through to its completion. The development has an expected capital cost of USD5.0 billion to USD5.3 billion. It is 60% owned by Anglo American and Mitsubishi Corp hold the rest. The Quellaveco project is on plan and on budget despite wasting six months to Covid-19, Cutifani said, projecting it will be completed in the first half next year. At the two-day Mining Indaba, held virtually, Cutifani also predicted that South African commodities will be in high demand as the world abandons carbon emissions and embraces greener future. The local mining industry, he said, was stepping up to the plate in response to climate change. He highlighted platinum group metals, copper and iron ore as some of the minerals that stood to benefit from transition to greener economy. Countries, accounting to 70% of the global gross domestic product, have pledged net zero emissions by 2050. "Sustainability comes with [high] business performance," said Cutifani.
