Agreed. Nice yield. Profits can be dependent on the weather from year to year but if you hold it does eventually revert to the mean.

Incredible to find a company in which the market cap is covered by the value of it's net assets, the majority of which are current assets ie cash, receivables and stock. Oh and makes a thumping profit too...

I have tracked this company for years and bought in today

However, I prefer:-

Nett Assets - 93 million
LESS Goodwill - 15 million - No real value and will be written off eventually

Net Assets - 78 million

Market Cap - 65 million

...and I love it too

PE of under 10, dividend yield 4% and net current assets of £50 million. Market cap £62 million. Love it.

"NWF which looks a bit cheaper" - on what possible grounds? The balance sheets are incomparable - in WYN's favour that is.

This looks excellent value to me anyway.

I notice the share price is almost exactly 50% below the 647p where I reduced on 21 March 2017 . I am tempted to buy them back at 323p , yes they could go lower but book value according to Stockopedia is 460p per share . However I also own NWF which looks a bit cheaper , so I will wait and watch .

Topvest, yes it is unusual for Wynnstay to have a profit warning. OK the weather has not been helpful but there is more behind WYN's current problems. Last year Wynnstay bought 8 stores from the administrator of Countrywide Farmers. These were stores that Mole Valley would have bought but for the CMA blocking their plans. I very much doubt that these stores will now make a contribution in the current year as previously promised. Mole Valley will be providing tough competition to Wynnstay where their territories overlap and this will have exacerbated any weather related issues. There will be a level where WYN shares offer good value but we are not there yet.

The 50 day MA has risen sharply here and crosses over the 200-day MA indicating a golden cross. May buy in.

I think they may argue that they did the best thing to protect jobs. Lots of their stores are still open.

It amuses that the Directors' salaries were maintained in a year when many staff in their pet shop business lost their jobs and shareholders suffered a large loss on the write down.
