17/4/2018 14:14 | LOL. If everyone saw a 'rosy future' then the price wouldn't be what it is, would it! Doh. IMO there's a ton of bad news already priced in, and the divi gets larger with every fall, so I'll take my chances - thanks for your concern. | woodhawk
17/4/2018 13:46 | Not everyone sees a rosy future for WPP. Reading Evil Kneivil's latest blog entry about WPP, he for one is not convinced. There is no arrangement for a smooth transition and time for a side by side hand over with Sorrel's successor and, most astonishingly if true, he points out that WPP do not have a non-compete agreement with Sorel!! No, I wouldn't rush in, as I suspect another shoe is going to drop here soon. | uncle_sam
17/4/2018 11:58 | And circa 11% divi payable over the next 6 months while you wait!! | woodhawk
17/4/2018 11:53 | see the tv analyst says takeover target with £16 target. wow some upside then lol. | blueteam
17/4/2018 11:17 | There must be companies looking at this now ,with Sorrell gone it must seem an easy target | winner31
17/4/2018 11:01 | With a possible £22bln value currently on offer at £14bn, would a takeover be out of the question failing a selling-off by WPP itself? | woodhawk
17/4/2018 10:47 | i think what is important now will be q1 results - I do not like to think of what would happen to the mc if more negative news is released. But on the positive, most is already known and is priced in. aimho. also managed to buy more at £11 so am personally bullish abt wpp. gla | asturius101
17/4/2018 10:13 | Well done, best I managed to buy yesterday was 1098p. Annualized divi over the next six months (2 payments) is almost 11% at this level btw. | woodhawk
17/4/2018 09:42 | Bought yesterday on breakup considerations. Sorry to see MS leave the way he did after an illustrious career. | patientcapital
17/4/2018 08:38 | a bird in hand is better than a bird in the bush | notimpressed
17/4/2018 07:51 | From the Guardian: "A breakup of WPP could net shareholders more than £22bn, about £17 a share, much more than its current value of £11.50 a share or £15bn market cap, according to analysts." So a potential 50% upside from current levels then. | woodhawk
16/4/2018 12:27 | Took a risk and it's paid off - didn't expect quite such a big sell-off this morning as early sale of massive assets for multi-billions would seem a foregone conclusion. I think one analyst described it as a likely "feeding frenzy". So give it a day - out of respect for the demise of Sorrell (:-))- and I reckon the offers will start flooding in. I want to be holding when that happens. | woodhawk
16/4/2018 12:22 | agreed - good call to sell last week! | asturius101
16/4/2018 12:19 | yep, will be buying more if we get to < £11 | asturius101
16/4/2018 12:16 | I've bought back some of those I sold in the run-up last week. Waiting to see if the shorts can force it under 1100p and, if so, I'm in for the balance. I think the likely early sale of an asset worth circa 25% of the current market cap will focus attention of just how undervalued the entirely of WPP's assets are. Cash could be very useful for a) reducing debt b) extending the current share buy back scheme or c)special divi? | woodhawk
16/4/2018 11:36 | The serious players don't start trading when the bell goes at 8 o'clock. They obviously don't think the situation is quite as clear cut as some here do. | grahamite2
16/4/2018 11:22 | I have no doubt in wpp share performance in the future, and I do think current price is oversold, however due to Martin leaving issue, I guess the share will suffer some pains and volatility at the moment, will keep my eye on the price, trying to decide the appropriate level to buy in | yflin0324
16/4/2018 10:56 | Can't be bothered to try and unravel your allusion. Filtered. | woodhawk
16/4/2018 10:47 | winner/woodhawk re post 376, bodies turn blue when they die | notimpressed
16/4/2018 10:28 | price here depends upon the short trading fraternity. if they decide to attack acting in unison, then down we go. ..modern markets. | careful
16/4/2018 08:45 | According to the FT, analysts believe Kantar could be sold quickly and easily for up to £3.5 billion and there are stakes in other "really valuable" companies (Vice media, Chime Comm and App Nexus) worth a further £3 billion that aren't 'in the price'. And from the Guardian: "DeGroote says there is a “treasure trove of hidden value” on WPP’s balance sheet worth billions of pounds that is not reflected in its core profits." So lots of upside potential now that Sorrell is gone. | woodhawk |
