They rejected 237p last year. Why do you think they would accept 200p now? Company is in a lot healthier position today.

I'm curious as to why Chutes is putting so much effort into persuading investors to sell right now.

Just over a year ago that the bid of £2.37 from Apollo was rejected. Company is in a better position than it was then.

MC reduced to 950 Mio now, no value left for shareholders now
Only a gravy train for Directors and Mid-Management to rip, massive bonuses just been paid out.
Disgrace of Watson & Co.
Only question is, how long will it survive from here, another legacy train wreck and its over quick.

Melrose is an aerospace company now - they no longer have a 'buy, turnaround, sell' strategy. Wood could well get taken over imo, but it won't be by Melrose.

Given the excellent figures from Melrose this week and their intelligent buying of struggling Company, may be a look at Wood could be on the card. Wood is trading reasonably well and likely to be profitable this year- so an excellent bid target to buy/turn round/ sell and distribute cask
I am a holder of both shares and this is my personal view.
Good luck to all shareholders.

Thanks Gargoyle
Really helpful, the ebitda is a bit misleading.
Not sure why the company emphasise the ebitda in their updates.

Fidelity just went over 11%, so they clearly don't agree with that view, chutes.

Jsg123, Share-pad have forecast EBIT (same as operating profit, I think) for 2023 as $195.8m. Post-tax profit is estimated at $26.6m. Stocko-pedia have net profit at $41.8m

For 2024, the numbers are much better. $96.1m post tax profit in Share-pad, $95.3m net profit in Stocko-pedia.

expect further legacy shocks, not much left for holders now, another bumper bonus season again though, snouts in the trough.

Is this being kept down because of PFC or is something afoot?

Also does anyone know what their operating profit is due to be, not the stated ebitda?

I can't seem to find whether they are forecast to be in net profit.
