Thanks for the insight ClosetInvestor.
Considering splitting my EZJ in half and putting the remaining half in this one.
Would this be a target for an established low-cost airline at some stage or is it a pure growth play for the time being?

Bought in recently. Having to travel across Eastern Europe as part of business, I have used WizzAir on numerous occasions. Defn. no frills, but the planes are packed and efficient. So more of an investment based on 'buying something that you like/use'. Stockopedia has them on an attractive forward rating also though - PE 7.4 and scores well on Value and Quality metrics. DYOR.

Fairly subdued board here. Should see this on £20 before the month is out.

Nasdaq 100 -190 or 8% approx, Nasdaq Comp 2407.96 -158.87 (vol 2,083,306)
DJIA 10660.79 -251.62 N/A
S&P 500 1298.11 -35.23 N/A

Looks like my fears confirmed: so far looks just like a rally in a big bear (see original posting).

Well, I hope settles by end Jan, but am beginning to wonder.

The DJIA down over 225 points at one stage on worries about Bank of America and Utilities lending. A very choppy end to the week indeed.

Nasdaq unhappy too.

Let's hope for improvements by end of Jan.

Nasdaq 100 -119 and Nas C and DJIA showing large losses.

Rally in bear market fizzling out? Or bump along like this up/down until end of the month as bulls wrestle with bears trying to decide on fate?

Sadly, huge rallies in bears do happen, just as the converse can.

Volume very high on Weds, but it was in April 2000 also.

Jury's out.

At the moment, pundits can still say "Just profit taking from Wednesday's record." We'll have to see if this remains the case.

I haven't a clue really.

Having been up about 40 earlier, now down a bit.

Here's a story about the Nasdaq trading its highest volume ever yesterday. Note though that it's previous record was April 2000 (when I think many were exiting the Nasdaq stocks):

Anyone's guess still, isn't it.

A few moments later back into positive territory:-
Nasdaq 2618.01 +1.32 (vol 1,114,456)
DJIA 10985.3 +39.55 N/A
S&P 500 1342.84 -4.72 N/A

Nasdaq Comp opens down 25 within minutes, DJIA down 4.
Profit-taking from yesterday. Will it impinge on the market for the whole day?

DJIA then reversed and went up 10 then up 5. Nasdaq recovered a bit too.

Some believe the Nasdaq rally will hold because:-

* Largest ever volume (as far as I know) might mean serious rally

* Nasdaq had biggest climb in terms of points and percentage since it started in 1971

* Fed interest rates cut can signal further cut(s)

* Some of the recessionary talk has been said to be over-stated

Some believe it's short-lived because:-

* Corp earnings in Q2 still likely to miss targets or be flat

* H2 2001 might see earnings met (as expectations downgraded in H2 2000)

* Fed move might be seen as panic

Which? Time will tell.

I beleive this a panic reaction to a generally falling market that will nosedive again. Take profits in the near future and be ready to short. The FTSE still has room to go up but not by more than about 7% then it will reduce again unless we cut our rates or US cuts further, both of which are quite likely. So be ready to react to the situation as it arises.

FOOL'S GOLD?
At the moment, having seen so many rallies, the British investor (saddled with the woes of the United States through no fault of his or her own), is more inclined to sit on the sidelines awaiting firm direction upwards to be clearly established rather than what has been seen frequently recently: the rally followed by the sad retracement when the euphoria wears off.

Of course, one of the rallies in the bear marklet will one day be the signal that the bear has ended. The question is which one? Will it be this one or will it be a rally in Q1 2002 or beyond.

Watch this space.
