Posted at 04/11/2024 20:51 by crazi Wizz Air (LSE:WIZZ) reported an increase in passengers and capacity in October, carrying 5.6 million people, 4.1% more than last year. Capacity increased by 3.7%, with a load factor of 92.9%.During the month: - Wizz Air announced on October 21st that it will open a temporary base in Chisinau, Moldova, commencing direct connections to 16 destinations from December 16th. - Wizz Air also officially opened its new €38m training centre in Rome Fiumicino on October 1st, with the facility able to provide recurrent training for over 4,800 pilots a year. - While still one of the leading airlines in terms of lower emissions per passenger, October saw CO2/RPK emission increase by 1.9% YoY, to 51.6 grams/RPK. This reflected flying a suboptimal fleet mix due to the GTF related groundings of some of Wizz Air's A321neos. With that said, this was an improvement on the 52.3g of CO2/ RPK emitted in September. - Wizz also announced on October 21st that it is collaborating with Airbus in a SAF trial on its Barcelona to Budapest (BCN-BUD) and Brussels Charleroi to Budapest (CRL-BUD) routes. Excellent news for 2025 - Patience... |

Use the filter option (Ignore) for it's purpose - strip out stuff you don't want to see. I remain interested in your views about Wizz Air. My experience - dont judge anybody's credibility from a few posts on an anonymous investing board, it's hard enough trying to do that where you can hear or see the person yourself. |

Posted at 18/9/2024 14:41 by crazi Well if the press is to be believed the fall from 2500 to 1130 was Wall St Hedge funds shorting airlines and particularly they picked on Wizz.Strange thing is though "declared" short positions over the past 2 months have hardly changed! So was it mainly "naked shorting"? mmm - illegal - but the LSE will never lift a finger or the FCA... At some point however --- there is going to be a "very large short squeeze" as Wizz's business model is working and they are performing when you remove the engines issue and impact. And even though the paid press want you to believe airlines aren't doing well anymore / post covid --- nearly all of them have share prices in the higher range of their highs over the past few years. Wizz had record numbers in August. Prices holding. Seat capacity increased to over 95% which is excellent! So Wizz is an absolute bargain for those with patience imho... Ive increased my holdings by a large amount over the past weeks and am happy to hold :-) Good luck... |

The aircraft will be based in Milan Malpensa, and from 2 Jun 2025 Wizz Air will operate the new direct route between Milan and Abu Dhabi as a daily service, a flight over 7 hours, making it more accessible than ever before with fares that are 70% lower than the current competitors' offer. This is the first Wizz Air route to leverage the Airbus A321XLR's extended range and efficiency, which has the potential to revolutionize intercontinental travel. The strategic decision to base the Airbus A321XLR in Milan reflects Wizz Air's commitment to strengthen its Italian network and expand its reach. Speaking at a press conference in Milan earlier today, József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, said: "The Airbus A321XLR is the most cost-efficient aircraft of its class and, given the enhanced range capability, it enables Wizz Air to connect the furthest destinations in its network and further expand it, connecting cultures and continents. We're excited to unlock unbeatable fares for our customers on the newly announced route to Abu Dhabi, while offering the most sustainable option for flying. We are already flying several 5-6 hour long ultra-low-cost routes with great satisfaction to our customers, and the XLR will extend our outstanding value proposition to 7-8-hour long flights." Wizz Air is anticipating the delivery of 8 Airbus A321XLR aircraft in CY2025, of a total of 47 on order. |
