15/9/2005 18:53 | Wilmington current yr in line with expectations after raising FY profits LONDON (AFX) - Wilmington Group PLC said the current year has started in line with expectations after it reported an 18 pct increase in profit before tax and exceptionals for the year to June 30 2005 to 12.1 mln stg. The professional information and training group said it benefited in the year under review from its successful restructuring. On the back of the strong results, the board raised the total dividend by 20 pct to 3.6 pence per share. In the year, the group said all core sectors of the business made good progress, increasing margin and profit. It noted a particularly strong performance by the key Legal and Regulatory and Healthcare divisions, which increased trading profit by 13 pct and 51 pct respectively. The board said it is confident of future good progress. Trading in the current year will be weighted towards the second half, it added. Chief executive Charles Brady said: "We have a strong reputation in areas that we want to develop and are well-placed to uncover and exploit the exciting possibilities that we believe the current market offers." He added that the board is encouraged by the progress made in the year to June 30 2005 and remains confident of further good progress this financial year. | grigor | |
