Strong trend forming, still plenty of resistances to get through including the current 165-167 one but all looking good for a move higher in the near term imo dyor ofc.

Dying breed of punters, that know nothing about online betting, just like a social club really, thousands more shops will close in the high streets and good riddance to them, a blight on the landscape, surely the Country can create better use of the space

US business will be where future profits will come but it will cost money, lots and lots of money.

Not a buyer at current levels.

The shops have only been there as a physical location for the FOBT from which to extract the wages/dole of the hapless addicts.

There are not enough ageing punters to go round the current vast oversupply of shops.

So many sit there empty for hour upon hour.

In the old days it was like a welcoming social club to watch the horses. Horseracing has declined and made way for football and other sports where younger punters bet online or on their mobile.

Hills decision is correct for the business, other companies must follow.

My local Coral bookmaker in the High street always full of people waiting to play the machines. Last couple of times I looked in....shop completely empty. Not a single punter. Cannot remember the last time I put a bet on in any shop. Grand National....these days online firms like bet365 offer amazing deals.

At long last WMH are seeing the light, can’t come quick enough, good for bottom line in addition to online being the way forward imo

That is the question

Possibly although gambling online is simple enough

Except in the case of bookies of course their removal from the high street is financially beneficial to that community despite the loss of staff wages, rent, rates.

The warned the government about this - what did they expect - only the start of the job losses in the high street and more empty shops

I'll start rebuying if price comes down to 157.5 (I think it will), but if not I'll be trading other positions. I'm not tied to Billy Hill and certainly not to hopes of a takeover on the never never with the US500 having touched 3000

Why would you sell, this is going to be taken out by the yank casinos, they turned down £4 a share just over a year ago, they are a bargain at this price with the USA opening up all the time state by state..PLUS LADS ARE WITH CORAL,BETFAIR WITH PADDY SO WMH ARE ON THEIR OWN.....The only downside are the shops and the FOBT £2 CUT..

Have to agree Trent', can't see Hills still being independent by year end, only question, what value on a TO, I'd say north of £2.40.

Well, I didn't change my sells and have now closed all positions. I'll keep watching and will buy back if there is a good pull back, but I'm not that hopeful.

The sector has been hammered over the last year thanks to regulatory changes and an increasingly competitive market that's fueling consolidation. May sell a few more in the 170s and the next resistance level but not going to sell out completely given the potential upside all imo dyor ofc.
