15/3/2018 14:43 | Soz, but mid April from looking at last year's RNS? cheers 666James | qs99
15/3/2018 13:41 | QS99 Its the interims we are waiting for to 28/2/18...well an update would be nice 'cause that would put a flavour on what they might contain. | 666james
15/3/2018 13:03 | wakey wakey it would appear! | qs99
15/3/2018 12:25 | Looks like calm before the storm IMO...have dipped toe in again recently, doesn't seem to be much stock as could only buy small amounts near offer price. GLA, but as we near what I presume must be year end results in April (?), DYOR, but decent news and hopefully we can re-test previous highs! cheers and thanks for all informative posts above really useful updates. | qs99
14/3/2018 15:08 | Agree McFly, a gift at this price, having come right back to the placing price virtually. I've added a further 25k under 24p today. | bones
14/3/2018 14:34 | I attended the AGM and investor event in January. I liked what I heard very much. I missed the rise last year and have been waiting for a pull back. I'm surprised they've come back so far and have taken the opportunity to buy in. Struggling to buy any in volume so I've been picking up small amounts since the midday drop. Happy to be on-board. Hopefully we'll get a trading statement soon, otherwise not long until the interims (18 April last year). | mcfly79
13/3/2018 18:24 | Potential new market for WEY Education - teaching the ultra rich: The bottom line is the UK tutor industry is currently worth £2 billion - so would be nice if wey got a slice of that action. | netcurtains
12/3/2018 18:26 | njl53: Looks good. Also worth noting that WEY did have a 'small' link to the Open University. And yep, the OU is looking for WEB developers for its new site (they tried to recruit me too) Compendium is an OU product: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced online developer to join a cutting edge organisation and work with the in-house software team and other internal stakeholders who manage the Compendium administrative process. The successful candidate will ensure that the website looks and functions well for both internal and external users i.e. those administering the survey and subsequent EC reports as well as those simply consulting the data from the site. Qualifications, experience and knowledge: Essential: • Comprehensive understanding of the full stack software development lifecycle • Extensive HTML5 / CSS3 development experience • Strong knowledge of java script and front-end web development experience using java script and java script frameworks, in particular Node.JS, Angular.JS, NV-D3.JS, Angular Material and related toolkits & libraries • Strong knowledge and experience of RESTful APIs and JSON • Good database experience, preferably Postgres and MySQL DB • Experience with testing frameworks preferably Jasmine and Protractor • Working knowledge of source code versioning control, specifically GIT • Good working knowledge of continuous integration • Working knowledge of Linux operating system preferably Centos 7.0 | netcurtains
12/3/2018 17:27 | There is more background on VR Education on their own thread - VRE - on this ADVFN BB. | njl53
12/3/2018 17:24 | This looks like techonlogy that could enhance Wey's virtual classrooms. | njl53
12/3/2018 11:25 | All those who were not privy to the 22p placing now have a chance of getting close to that price. I would expect strong demand for the shares at these levels. Almost tempted to add myself but recently bought a slug at 27 and change | bones
09/3/2018 12:25 | ms: There certainly are lots of things that might be going on: marketing spend, overseas growth, a new App, how merger doing, how is the AI in Maths doing?, numbers, figures, new business ventures etc etc.. Potentially lots of good stuff. Perhaps peruse the TES community site: | netcurtains
09/3/2018 11:52 | Share price seems to have gone into neutral here. Everyone waiting for the anticipated update i guess to see how they are matching up vis-a-vis the forecasts. | microscope
09/3/2018 11:44 | No that is still fine. The school uses WEY to teach the GCSEs and they then take them (gcses) at the school. There is no need for them to take iGCSEs - these are for pupils already not in main stream schools. You are misusing stats to prove an invalid point... Cheers Net | netcurtains
09/3/2018 07:50 | Netty, igcse does not count in school performance data. The rule changed several years ago. It makes little difference for students - but it does for schools. Under current accountability measures English and Maths are double-weighted. So if a school goes to WEY to provide coverage of core (E&M) they take a 40% hit on results for any students entered. For mainstream students in state schools that is just too painful a hit to take. For students in Alternative Curriculum provision the same still holds but the impact is lessened because you probably accept that you are going to take a hit with that student either way. Additionally there is some movement towards schools disapplying some 'outlying' students from results sets. This would apply here. WEY has many attractions as an investment - but it wont be selling seats on mass to mainstream all the while it is peddling igcse... G. | garth
09/3/2018 07:06 | Perhaps we should expect a WEY APP soon? | netcurtains
08/3/2018 09:21 | Hi garth: "national accountability measures" ... I think that area is catered for: and and of course they get great iGCSE and A Level grades for their students. | netcurtains
08/3/2018 07:10 | "More people will be taking the WEY option to get small class sizes." Not if they are a state school they won't. Last time I checked the courses WEY offer are not certified for inclusion in national accountability measures... There is no doubting that WEY have potential - but they are not the cure-all for the UK education system. G. | garth
08/3/2018 06:57 | Bricks and Mortar class sizes increasing.. More people will be taking the WEY option to get small class sizes. We need more control of the private sector so rubbish schools are removed - making places like WEY more sort after.. | netcurtains
07/3/2018 07:08 | Should be big marketing push beginning soon for start of new school year in Sept. | netcurtains
06/3/2018 08:42 | Full London University Degree online (for £5.5k a year) Interesting they are charging miles more than WEY and probably give you MILES LESS hours online. | netcurtains
02/3/2018 12:55 | Nice to see a 100K buy go though on such a cold day. | netcurtains
02/3/2018 09:22 | Its worth pointing out that WEY Education is in the middle of the Brecon Becons in South Wales (the black mountains). The area is covered in a deep area of snow... THE SCHOOL IS STILL OPEN That is the power of the net! | netcurtains
01/3/2018 11:03 | That, I would have missed! Thanks | 12358k |
