27/4/2018 07:21 | superadams: Those stats do not tell the full story. If you take into account home education for specific lessons (eg tutoring for extra-maths or tutoring to get into a top private school or for A levels or for GCSE ) it can be as high as 100% of kids having some form of home education. If WEY can break into the EXTRA-TUTION market potentially every child in the UK could be a customer - there is normally at least one subject we all could do better at. In a sense quoralexis is actually an EXTRA-TUTION college specialising in English for non-English speakers. WEY could do the same for MATHS or ENGLISH LIT or CHEMISTRY or BIOLOGY etc etc... WEY HOME TUTOR COLLEGE - perhaps a new string to its bow.... Payment for a one hour lesson a week... There clearly is large money in it as some home tutors are now, apparently millionaires. | netcurtains
26/4/2018 20:59 | Had an interesting feature on Radio Devon this pm about home education saying that 1.2% of the county's children are now home educated- up 40 % over 3 years. Across the country I think the average is 0.5%- a small %age but a lot of pupils nonetheless. Only a fraction of these are WEY pupils but the trend is certainly there. | superadams

24/4/2018 16:26 | Miton doing really well. One assumes WEY is part of their story too | netcurtains
24/4/2018 13:31 | I certainly haven't heard of any extension, James. I thought the widening of the spread last week, and then the tick down which was despite just about enough buys to merit a small move the other way, might just suggest an order could be lurking. Either way we'll know in the next few days as Miton make up their mind! As you say then it's onwards to a hopefully positive interim statement and numbers. :) | microscope
24/4/2018 11:00 | thanks micro...I thought myself that something was going on and I that the downward pressure on Wey was because Miton was off loading. Pleased to hear that there is a "cut off" date. Fingers and toes crossed for the half year results soon. | 666james

19/4/2018 12:17 | Kids don't use Twitter anymore. Why should the numbers grow? | boonkoh
19/4/2018 10:41 | I guess what worries people is that the twitter follower numbers on all the schools does not appear to be growing. | netcurtains
18/4/2018 13:14 | yeah sounds most reasonable explanation. Thanks | netcurtains
18/4/2018 11:06 | I do not have level two so perhaps someone with that can let us know. Last night there was a trade of 250k in the "don't know" column. It might be Miton reducing their holding. | 666james
18/4/2018 10:30 | was that a buy or sell of two lots of 250K? | netcurtains
