05/4/2024 15:17 | There are a lot of comments under that video though ,saying they don't visit wetherspoons because of Martins opinions on brexit ?I'm not sure it was the wisest business decision,to declare your politics? | gozzie2
05/4/2024 15:15 | If the working class had been better treated, they wouldn't have voted brexit on mass ?You reap what you sow ? | gozzie2
05/4/2024 15:13 | The way the Remainers have reacted to the result of a Democratic vote is telling though. I know for a fact that most I have spoken to have financial gain or someother reason to remain, mainly property and their despise against people who didn't vote as they were told is disgusting. | isis
05/4/2024 15:12 | Careful wouldn't mind being a quid behind him lol ? | gozzie2
05/4/2024 15:03 | lol - I think he is down to Earth and enjoys what he does. Everybody was told not to vote Brexit and Cameron resigned. Make of that what you will, I personally didn't vote and am never swayed by anyone. | isis
05/4/2024 14:22 | 'Always a pleasure to hear Tim Martin talk'? That is sarcasm. | careful
05/4/2024 09:11 | New tax year on Monday might buy £20.000 worth | portside1
04/4/2024 22:00 | Oh dear , he’s back . Couldn’t resist it Gozzie gobby shyte 1450 on this . No profit yet for Gozza | seedoftongo
04/4/2024 19:56 | Always a pleasure to hear Tim Martin talk. He's worth £500m and could sail away on a Super Yacht but obviously likes being involved with the Company with no intention of retiring. | isis
04/4/2024 18:12 | LolEh????He obviously doesn't watch Peston or Times Radio ??Hes on more than Holly Willoughby ?hTTps://youtu.be/vM | gozzie2
04/4/2024 18:09 | I don't think there's alot of the snobbery in the London ones. There are some anti Brexit Nutters who won't use them to much expense to themselves but happily use other establishments where the owners views are probably not even publishable without a whim! Spoons here are a mix of everyday folk, tourists, Sloane Rangers, you name it. I also know plenty of people who are anti Brexit that use them. | isis
04/4/2024 17:58 | Yep . Read Thomas Sowell's "the Vision of the Anointed" for a very full explanation of how why,and where and when the elite got to be the way they are. "However I think a lot of it is gold old fashioned condescension, snobbery and begrudgery. How dare ordinary people be able to go out for a drink and food." DEAD ON! they think they have a divine right to rule over the plebs. Has always been so ... just being found out now. | mr.elbee
04/4/2024 17:41 | What is this irrational hatred of Spoons. I understand part of it is Martins views on Brexit and the resentment that the man has an opinion with which they disagree. However I think a lot of it is gold old fashioned condescension, snobbery and begrudgery. How dare ordinary people be able to go out for a drink and food. Sometimes I do go into more upmarket establishments but I honestly prefer the buzz in a Spoons. Must be the pleb in me. | sumday
04/4/2024 17:21 | “Spoons all of them in Exeter are dirty” that’s a nonsense statement. | luderitz
04/4/2024 15:46 | Only an inkling .... but perhaps Tim might get the funds (or partners) to take JDW back in private hands.... maybe wishful thinking but you never know. | gwatson56
04/4/2024 15:41 | The RNS @ 14.32 looks half decent. FMR LLC increased its stake by 2.8% in JDW...... that's some 3.5M shares over £25M vote of confidence.... perhaps the only way is up from here. Tim did think the results were good .... I agree with Tim. | gwatson56
04/4/2024 15:34 | Directors very quite on the company going forward 4 years ago you could not get Tim off the tv or papers Now mute | portside1
03/4/2024 10:44 | Another thing is they all play retro music. There really isn't much in modern music, the odd Band here and there but the output from the 70's/80's/90's will never be matched again. All you here is Rap. Drum and Bass (what is that exactly??) and whiney songs from Swift Adele etc. which want to make you Puke ya Harvey Wallbangers up! | isis
03/4/2024 10:31 | There are virtually no late Clubs and Pubs in the West End now. Fortunately there are plenty of late Pubs/Bars with live and DJ/Karaoke type establishments in Zone 2 most of them staying open until 1-2am at Weekends and plenty of Night Buses. SE London is now spoilt for choice with Band Pubs and they're pretty good too, makes sense to start off at a Spoons and then hit the Music Pubs later on. One near me the Pelton Arms has about 3 Bands a Week all free, even get the Squeeze playing there sometimes for free. | isis
03/4/2024 09:38 | Bounty, this follows on from the Prism nightclub chain running into difficulties before Xmas, although some have been 'saved' including my local one in Kingston. I know for a fact that many local youngsters/students are preferring to catch up with mates at a third of the drinks prices in Spoons up till 1 am rather than attend these. All they're missing out on is the dancing to rap music. | lorse
03/4/2024 08:37 | More customers to be heading for Spoons: | bountyhunter
03/4/2024 08:19 | Spoons all of them in Exeter are dirty | portside1 |
