They did say that they had closed some where another was close by, also some very small one's and a few were going under development anyway.
On the upside they have refurbed many and made them larger, the one in Wakefield has doubled in size with a huge Garden. Was even opened by the Mayor!

I can get a Pint and a large Short and mixer in the Greenwich one for the price of a Pint in the other Pubs there! One drink that seems to be the same price in nearly all the Pubs in the Chain is the Broadwoods Folly which is UK Champagne equivalent at £23 worth noting if you're in an expensive one and want to look a bit flash. '-))
You'll be paying the same in Grimsby as you would in Leicester Square or the 02!

Don’t forget you “sold out and have no interest anymore “ yet you hold from 1450 … so many stories …
The view of the average Joe mug punter .

You just want people to talk to .

Yes that's most likely the case ,but there's another 4 along that front that have the same problem .Spoons customers will most likely venture to the other one .Half price makes a huge difference if you are a frequent drinker .

That might be it then especially if the other pub is big enough to absorb extra capacity and/or can be extended. That Quay site must be worth a small fortune but maybe only gets busy in the holiday season compared to the other one.

I've been to the one in Putney and it's a nice Pub, it doesn't even look like a Spoons and the Table Menu's are a bit Posh, Silver and Black I think.
It's called The Rocket, which hopefully Spoons profits will too! :-))

Actually the service charge was annoying this morning .A lovely place called Bill's for breakfast ,but a 6 pound service charge added ?I thought they were very friendly lol ?

It was hammered and why they are getting rid of it is a mystery ?Maybe it's dead in winter ?I couldn't care less it's missing a T?My tea would have been cheaper than in the Greene King lol ?Nice fish though, but I thought I'd use the APP like Spoons?40 minutes we waited and then I asked if the order was ready and they replied it doesn't always get passed to the kitchen ?Then I had to get my own tray of drinks off the bar as they had forgotten ?Spoons we were served within 5 mins, in a busier pub ?Il not be using the Greene King APP again ?FACT

My friend was at the Putney one, which isn't cheap and said it was so packed they run out of Glasses and had to use Plastic ones for a couple of hours. It's on the Thames, nice Pub and pretty big with large outside area. And for those that think Spoons are aimed at lower classes, well the houses along there start at around £5m and a small Flat £1m.
The Boat Race was on today too. :)

Maybe it had only just fallen down and was fixed the next day. Regardless I don't think it would have stopped anyone going in there for half price quality drinks and cheap as chips meals with no service charge.

If they can’t even bother to get the name over the door corrected then what does that say about the quality of what they are selling to their customers?

The 'T' has slipped out of place lol, maybe it's been fixed since that photo was taken!?
Disregarding that judging by the photo it's a nice looking pub!

Presumably not this one or this doesn't seem to make much sense unless there's another Spoons nearby or it's predominantly holiday business?

The Jolly Sailor Poole charging 5.90 for one bottle of kopperberg cider ?Greene King ..Spoons next door 2 for 5.90?It's a nice pub ,but not nice enough for double the price on drinks lol ?

Good point. Supply and demand. It's the same dynamic for Spoons with competing pubs closing.

London Hotels are always expensive but I wonder if all Hotel prices are being skewed by Asylum Seekers etc.
Greenwich Council owned up to £12m in Hotel costs.

Thanks, bountyhunter. Indeed a cleaner thread with none of the irrelevant, unpleasant posts would be good - the filter button has served me well on here and I would recommend it to all for personal well-being! Thanks to Isis for the info on subtle screens for the Euros - definitely the way to go to pull in even more punters and increase revenue. Just needs a good run all the way by our boys, with a dose of Summer sun like today, then this investment will look all the brighter!

Premier inn

BUDGET GOZZA

You rarely ever go on holiday and you elect the premier inn .
It’s average and is a good choice for those on a tight budget .

Steve Gozza , the voice of the average Joe mug punter .

1450 per share paid on JDW.
That’s why he’s still here folks .

I must admit you can't fault Premier Inn either, owned by Whitbread ?I've heard the wetherspoons hotels are good .

We need some of the more expensive places to survive to illustrate what a bargain it is to eat and drink at a Spoons pub by comparison! The drinks will normally be better as well due to the higher turnover.

Time to bounce off the 200 sma?
