The 86 pound a month Universal credit that some would have spent in Spoons ,would have gone as well lolNot a serious comment .

Its possible they will be closed down soon,or at least the restrictions of tables brought back in.This time if there is no lockdown, the people will decide ,and if they CHOOSE not to visit as they are worried, the pubs won't get the help they had last time .They will go to the wall .

Yes it maybe ,but is that most days .Weekends I don't think there is a problem, but a perfect storm coming. The vaccination they are saying loses effectiveness at around 6 months, and the early ones are coming to the end of that.Without boosters they are back at square one or won't have enough confidence to risk the pub where I believe transmission is high. Spoons isn't too bad because you can stay at a table and use the App.I prefer that actually to pubs that its impossible to not to get close .6 million unvaccinated and unwashed mingling in them lolPeople will be told to still work at home .I believe people will be under the stairs soon unfortunately. We shall see .

They wont need to lockdown.People will CHOOSE not to visit .Government prepares to renew emergency coronavirus laws – reportsMinisters are preparing to renew emergency COVID-19 legislation this month in a sign restrictions may be needed this winter, according to the Financial Times (FT).The measures in the Coronavirus Act must be renewed every six months, with a government insider telling the newspaper it was "gearing up" for a fight with anti-lockdown Tory MPs.The government will reportedly argue the legislation is necessary because of potential challenges this winter. This is because of high COVID cases, rising hospitalisations and a predicted difficult flu season.Back in March, 30 Tory MPs voted against renewing the act – with rebels reportedly predicting the number to be higher this month, although Labour will likely back its renewal.Conservative MP Mark Harper, who backs the COVID Recovery Group of lockdown sceptics, claimed there was "no need" to renew the "draconian detention powers".

Yes good point EI.

I actually think keeping prices low is the right move in the long run. Those raising prices may lose customers for ever.

Unless its somewhere really nice I will not normally pay much over £3 for a pint.I can afford to but just feel like I am being ripped off. (Probably just as well I don't live "down south" lol.)

Supermarket beer prices have only increased very slightly.
