02/4/2011 10:55 | Pavlos could probably put forward a convincing argument that he was enticed to invest without being given the full financial picture ,although he was given a special rate . The company urgently needed his investment this time last year to meet trade regulation comittments - so not so different to current position . Maybe this should have set off alarm bells all round . Having said that , he has turned the situation around to his own advantage , but that will not come as a surprise . | sobers
01/4/2011 12:02 | W&O fears collapse if Furze deal fails. Page 15 They got a great deal on such a nice brand nearly FOC | qantas
01/4/2011 11:38 | W&O renews Atol and is confident of shareholder backing for sale Friday, April 01, 2011 Rob Gill Western & Oriental Travel has had its Atol licence renewed and is confident shareholders will approve its sale next week. The tour operator is in the process of being sold to Furze International, the family trust of Raj Kumar, and the decision is expected to be approved at a meeting of W&O shareholders on April 7. The new owner has promised to inject £4 million into the business once the sale is completed. W&O Travel managing director Kerry Golds said she had canvassed major shareholders who had indicated they would vote in favour of the sale. "Having canvassed many of the major shareholders, I'm confident that the sale will be approved," said Golds. "We have also just received the renewal of our Atol which is obviously very good news for the future of the business. "I want to reassure everybody in the trade that we are very financially stable and can move forwards with confidence. "Once the sale is complete we will obviously look at the business as a whole. We are very committed to working with the trade." Shareholders will also vote on a proposal to delist Western & Oriental from the London Stock Exchange. The company will become solely an events business when the sale of the tour operator is completed. renews Atol and is confident of shareholder backing for sale&fromSearch=yes | qantas
31/3/2011 22:55 | Well if this wasn't an AIM listed company then it may well be deemed as theft. Never mind though as it seems as though the Government does it aka BB. Double6 I also sent a mail to the company regarding PLUS listing. No bounce back as you mentioned and no reply which seems to sum up this "mob". Did you really receive a reply? | ucnut
31/3/2011 22:40 | events only just profitable says stmnt so not sure how you get 700g profit. if this delists shareholders will get shafted as Pavlos will do as he pleases. hes managed to leave shareholders with nothing by ousting board memebers and anyone who will get in his way. Disgrace | patviera

30/3/2011 16:23 | If we have to rely on WO for related RNS info might have to wait a while . Information not exactly their forte , what we get is almost forced out . We are all getting excited about a fraction of a penny up or down . As long as Pavlos remains nervous about AGM outcome he will look to buy at the lowest possible rate , get the feeling he is not as confident as last week , maybe he sees a dark knight riding over the horizon . If AGM doesnt go his way might be interesting . | sobers
30/3/2011 14:01 | Just remember profits were down last year at £700k at the Events....current mkt cap is £540k.... In the cold light of day, people would snap this up.. | chrisdgb
30/3/2011 13:23 | Await the RNS, then! Then we just need the confirmation of considering listing on PLUS.... | double6
30/3/2011 13:03 | Mister MD! LOL! No it isn't. I have a half a Million at .18 that I bought last week. I just was asking opinions as to wether I will ever get out breaking even at least! | ukmassy
30/3/2011 12:41 | Could be two schools of thought on this . One Its Pavlos buying up shares to stengthen his position on the 7th , or maybe one of the Inst . Investors taking more just to prevent delisting and/ or the selling of travel . I think if you had said to Pavlos a year ago he could have bought the Events side ( his only interest ) for £1.5m he would have snapped your hand off , so hoovering up extra shares at a fraction of their value would not be a concern to him , but that would be acting maybe in the interests of O.C rather than WO shareholders . Ethical -probably not . Would be reassuring if it was one of the Inst. Investors making a stand against being shafted . Whatever happens , WO is a discredited company in so many eyes . | sobers
