27/7/2012 15:42 | Are we still thinking short positions closing ahead of interims? Market conditions have been better over the last couple of days. Glad I kept mine, but for how much longer? Sell ahead of the announcement or hang on hoping for a 'game changing' update. The market response would be damming if it was anything less. Maybe this is the time for the short spread bet as hedge? | phil140158
27/7/2012 11:34 | Breaking out - the symmetry is thge bowl tratante, imo - charts like this tend to mirror the fall with the bounce, dunno why but it often plays out, tho not always, imo. CR | cockneyrebel
26/7/2012 19:14 | No idea what it means if anything, but you've got to admire the symmetry in the chart! | tratante
26/7/2012 11:25 | Looking a bit horny here again today CR | cockneyrebel
26/7/2012 07:13 | Thanks for the info,Phil. | tratante
25/7/2012 14:18 | No posts on the thread, tratante. It was set up by a guy called Leeson31 and has lots and lots of charts, which when I have time, I'll study to find out what they all mean!! | phil140158
25/7/2012 13:08 | Why do we have a new thread, particularly when it's not accessible to free subscribers? | tratante
21/7/2012 17:48 | Thanks tr... one of the sat. papers (Indy or Grauniad, can't remember which) commented on WEIR responding to better than expected results from US firms in the same sector. apad | apad
21/7/2012 15:58 | Maybe, tratante, or maybe not. The figures dipped back down to earth after Wall Street opened. | poikka
21/7/2012 13:55 | This might have had some impact: | tratante
21/7/2012 13:49 | Apad Useful link posted by Attrader (759 above) need to register but it's free. Shares on load still below 20% but turned up a little in last couple of days. No idea why the strong price rise today, has been all over the place over the last few weeks. Not impossible that weir vulnerable to bid, although that would be a crying shame. As someone said above most likely shorters closing - the figures from Square mile are a couple of days behind. Good luck all (only longs of course)! | tratante
21/7/2012 09:14 | Also 10 days off interims of course. apad | apad
21/7/2012 09:12 | Compared the graph with IMI over the last 3 months to measure against a boring engineering benchmark. May & June they were in lockstep and July WEIR outperformed by 10%. The sectors have not been very discriminating of individual companies of late, so this might well be significant. FT site still shows a high level of shorting, which might well account for some odd volatility. tratante - how do you get the % on loan figure? apad | apad
21/7/2012 09:10 | my bowls or my bowels? Both good indicators imo :-) CR | cockneyrebel
20/7/2012 21:13 | you and your bowls cr :) | jon827
20/7/2012 21:04 | still a huge bowl there imo, another breakout attempt next week imo. CR | cockneyrebel
20/7/2012 19:31 | lol you never know! :) | jon827
20/7/2012 19:29 | Jon - think your on the wrong board, mate! | phil140158
20/7/2012 18:32 | i was just looking at the chart, wonder if its going back to 957 to fill that gap? | jon827
20/7/2012 18:26 | Most likely explanation, IMHO is someone/thing! closing a short position. Certainly a very strange daily chart? | phil140158
20/7/2012 17:56 | anyone found out why yet? :) | jon827 |
