08/4/2021 09:55 | Thats really interesting TWH - just had a quick read up about it following your post and it looks as though its a real posibility. Its all lining up nicely for Webis - still only valued at £26m but has to be worth multiples of that valuation to a strategic preditor! | passeridae
08/4/2021 09:35 | There is such a thing as a Recall Election likely in California. As part of this 2021 action a Sports Betting bill could well be included Remarkably this could not only draw things forward a year to a 2022 launch but handily be only available for tribal casinos and RACETRACKS. This would give a year head start on other players, a monster key advantage that we other seen in other state | the white house
08/4/2021 07:54 | A bit more information about the nature of the agreement to legalise mobile sports betting in NY is now available: New York lawmakers were set to legalize mobile sports betting as part of the new state budget headed for final approval on Wednesday. The state will select at least two companies through a competitive bidding process this year to operate online wagering, according to language in the $212 billion spending plan. Members of the Democrat-controlled state Senate and Assembly approved a budget bill with the provisions on Wednesday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he would sign the measure... ...The budget language requires the Gaming Commission to issue a request for proposals by July and award licenses later this year. The commission must select two platform providers, but they may partner with multiple operators, or skins, which provide consumer-facing products. | passeridae

07/4/2021 07:45 | If you bothered to read what I wrote you might perhaps understand that what the governor was proposing- a single skin - would not benefit WEB. Thankfully he did not get his own way entirely and there will be a minimum of four skins | mip55

06/4/2021 22:50 | According to the NY Post budget agreement has finally been reached and it DOES include mobile sports betting: "The sides have also agreed to legalize mobile sports betting — which lawmakers say will increase revenue this fiscal year by $99 million and then by as much as $500 million by 2025-’26." nypost.com/2021/04/0 Awaiting confirmation on the exact nature of the agreement but may be along the lines as follows: "the plan reportedly will include one or two operators which will be chosen by the state through a request for proposal process, and a minimum of four skins with no maximum for each operator. Providers would only be eligible if they have a current partnership with at least one of the existing licensed commercial casinos in New York, which limits providers to DraftKings, FanDuel, BetRivers and Bet365" | passeridae
05/4/2021 15:26 | While details of New York mobile betting are still being hammered out you should hope the Governor does not get his wayGovernor Cuomo's proposal would likely unravel this negotiated solution. Here's why: the budget bill incorporating Governor Cuomo's proposal makes no provision for affiliate or tribal participation in mobile sports betting. Instead, it states simply that mobile sports betting would be permitted "through a platform provider or providers" pursuant to a competitive bidding process overseen by the state gaming commission. This succinct language would appear to leave room only for the select few mobile providers (i.e., DraftKings, FanDuel, Bet365, and Rush Street Interactive) that have market access deals with the upstate casinos. In other words, the racetracks, OTB outlets, video lottery facilities, tribal casinos, and professional sports venues would be left out of the process completely. | mip55
02/4/2021 21:42 | Still we wait ... latest "word on the street": New York is hours away from a decision on whether it will include mobile sports betting in its new fiscal year budget. The budget deadline was April 1, but key issues — including legalization of mobile sportsbooks — are expected to delay final passage by at least 24 hours. The news out of Albany is that New York can expect mobile sports betting to be included in the fiscal year (FY) 2022 state budget as a hybrid. That would likely combine a lottery-based sportsbook model (which Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants) and private partnership model. No final word yet on how many operators or skins are expected, but key lawmakers including Sen. Joe Addabbo say they are still pushing for as many as they can get. | passeridae
