Posted at 10/7/2024 06:46 by passeridae Interesting to read that Jim Mellon has joined the Webis board:Ed Comins, Webis' Managing Director, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Jim to the Board of Webis. His exceptional commercial experience will prove invaluable as we continue to implement our strategy, and we are sure he will make a very positive contribution to the Board." |
Posted at 13/5/2024 15:01 by sea7 Simon cawkwell on webis - 30th april 2024Finally, Webis (WEB) this morning provide an upbeat declaration that they are ready to benefit in the coming weeks of the American turf season. WEB forebear to claim that profits are on the way. But if they are WEB is very cheap indeed at 1.5p to buy. Despite the fierce competition that WEB would face were it successful I still think the current capitalisation of the order of £5m is quite mad. This is worth a bet. |

Posted at 27/2/2024 07:17 by passeridae Not impressed with the numbers again but, probably like everyone else, it's the outlook that interests me:The Board agree that we must focus on four key areas to achieve growth, and a return to profitability and advance our known licensed position in the USA for the benefit of shareholders. These four initiatives are as follows: > To grow the B2C business platform in terms of player numbers and handle, and therefore improve margin for the business. We have proven that there is consistent growth in this sector and the next six months will be very important in this area. > To continue to grow our land-based licenses at Cal Expo and potentially in other States. There are some very interesting developments in this area at time of writing, and we will update shareholders as soon as there is more tangible news. > To utilise our key assets to provide third party services to existing or new entrants into the US market. Evidence suggests there is a good market for these services as stated above. These are the potential to share our US and international content rights, our licenses especially in California, our US based banking and payment methods, and our technology. > Finally, and related to point three, we are very aware that strategic interest in USA regulated gaming, including horseracing, is very strong at present and will continue to be for several years. The larger operators, and also new entrants to the market, are looking for stable operations to either merge with or to acquire outright. This is exactly what WatchandWager offers, and the key Executive has been instructed by the Board to pursue these opportunities, if they are of benefit to shareholders. We will keep shareholders fully informed of any developments in this area. This time next year Rodney ... |
Posted at 13/2/2023 11:55 by smithie6 Today a note from/by Simon Cawkwell"Ed Comins of Webis (WEB) came by last week. He was fairly tight-lipped about prospects. But he did not seem downcast to me. Now 2.5p." I guess that the chubby chap must have a fair chunk of WEB shares. |
Posted at 09/2/2023 14:17 by smithie6 WEBjump in the sh. price phps it might be linked to this existing info for the co. trying to get a license for a 2nd race facility, in Arizona (& phps there is progress on that in the USA) "....we fully expect to be licensed by the end of this year {2022}, or at worst early in 2023." |

Posted at 06/2/2023 10:37 by david gruen I have three obvious takeout targets. This (WEB), 7DIG, and OSI.Especially this one. A larger player could do very well here. Still expect it to 10-20 bag at some point. |
Posted at 29/6/2022 07:52 by mip55 The Native American option on the ballot would not benefit WEB and the company is actively lobbying against it.The alternative - Californians for Solutions to Homelessness and Mental Health Support - is backed by the seven big online sports betting operators but the actual legislation that flows from this option would have to be changed for it to immediately benefit WEB. The reason behind this is that under the proposed amendment online sports betting licenses would be available to qualified operators for $100 million. In order to get one of those licenses, sports betting operators will need to be licensed in 10 other states, or be licensed in five other states if they own or manage 12 Class III casinos.WEB's best hope of benefitting is a takeover |
Posted at 28/6/2022 20:58 by mcmather Not looked into it for a few months, but just not sure that either of the two options for the ballot so far actually favour (ie include) WEB? Hopefully, a RNS tomorrow will allay any concerns. |
