04/9/2020 13:12 | Earnings will certainly improve due to the DIY revival. Taking advantage of any dip is crucial to maximising gains as we approach the results. | trt
04/9/2020 12:43 | I think there is a little bit of profit taking going on today. With the DIY market and the housing market booming I think that we can expect decent results. | our haven
04/9/2020 11:17 | Short term should be good It's longer term than is more worrying .But wgb have been around since I started in the building game in 1993 .They are solid underneath !Just a case of how far back the market will take them | s34icknote
04/9/2020 10:49 | FELIX99: Assuming "good news" on sales etc, its just over a month to interim results (if similar time to last year) - so normally one would expect a rise towards results..... END OF NEXT WEEK is the run up to results (Eg a month)... Once weak holders have left the building I expect to see more people join for results as everyone knows DIY is doing well (eg Kingfisher results). | netcurtains
04/9/2020 10:32 | think DIY should be booming whether houses are selling or not .Peeps working from home staring at tired walls , floors etc , sofas want to update them as they are suddenly spending lots of time at home looking at them | felix99
04/9/2020 10:18 | Yes - but the BALL for DIY is house sales (I guess) . What is the driver for HOUSE SALES? The lowering of STAMP DUTY... This: New data shows that average asking prices are £30,000 higher today than they were before the lockdown, and have gone up by £10,000 since the chancellor cut stamp duty Thus DIY is booming. Thus WGB is booming. Thus share price should be 90p+ | netcurtains
04/9/2020 09:58 | I thought we'd all be back to work by end of July !!Most aren't going back till next year !The knock on efffect ! All those business in London that thrive on a busy city !!! Without tourists too !! | s34icknote
04/9/2020 09:56 | I'm not sure your wrong net .They use to own muraspec that was the commercial side .They sold that off .So would like to know what the exposure is to commercial ???If they are mainly domestic then that's better . But thinking out side the box ?How many virgin Atlantic staff are buying wall paper now !Only half of them as half are out of work !!! The other half might start delaying buying products till confidence is restored !!How many other jobs gone !! That don't hit headlines !!Just trying to give a on the ground look from a different angle ! | s34icknote
04/9/2020 09:34 | Oh I see what you mean s34icknote: you think WGB has a big percentage of its turnover doing up offices and hotels. I did not know that. Does anyone have a percentage of what amount WGB turnover is in offices/hotels sector compared to the house market? I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that 90%+ of WGB turnover was for domestic (home) use and not work.... Have I got that wrong? | netcurtains
04/9/2020 09:27 | Net I admire your enthusiasm !!However I fit out commercial offices !!!They are all still empty !!London is still like a ghost town !!Companies are now having to lay staff off as nothing is happening !The work has dried up !!Domestic is good at moment .Well in the south it is !!Any one from the north ???Do wgb supply the commercial wall paper any more ?I think we've had a good run but not sure it will keep going much further !A solid company all the same . | s34icknote
04/9/2020 08:03 | I think 2021 will be a fantastic year for DIY - millions (world wide) will still be working from home (so loads more free time) and there will be a cure available for covid (reasonably confident about that). Booming DIY should be great for WGB - I know the older investors on this thread do not decorate themselves but I know most people do and wallpaper is back in fashion. | netcurtains
04/9/2020 07:34 | Vicious spread but early morning ftse weakness providing a dip for investors. 93p is 10x 2019 earnings | studentinvestor13

03/9/2020 09:13 | Yes businesses are now better prepared by far and lockdowns wont lead to what happened in q1. Chart looking good for a push onto 70p when it will still be very undervalued compared to most compsnies | studentinvestor13
02/9/2020 10:21 | The good thing they like many other companies are now geared for covid practices so hopefully no more shutting up shop risks !Sicknote | s34icknote

01/9/2020 20:55 | It does not surprise me. £40 million for a business of this grade is a steal. It should at least get back to 10x 2019 eps which is 93 pence a share. | studentinvestor13
01/9/2020 17:47 | Looks like a couple of larger sells now cleared . On wards in a down ward market. Sicknote | s34icknote
