06/4/2005 09:28 | A few interesting trades yesterday, including a 250k cross. So somebody thinks this still has legs. Needs some news to move it, they usually only make comment when they have to, aquisitions, disposals, results etc. The concensus has eps 15.1p for this and 16.5 for next which gives a forward PER of 12, not out of order for an eps growth of 10%. Good Luck GS | green sand
21/2/2005 22:55 | All quiet here - any info on when we might hear some more from VP to lift the price ? | cobweb
09/2/2005 09:38 | Perky today.. now 193-199 but about to tick higher | m.t.glass
02/2/2005 21:10 | Britel have sold 50k but who bought 1 million shares on Tuesday? | paulf99
02/2/2005 20:26 | looks as though Britel have reduced by approx 50k shares. | johnpaul1
02/2/2005 19:21 | Think Britel were reducing holding, nothing really to worry about, might be a good thing stock overhang cleared. | wipo1
01/2/2005 14:54 | In fact there were 3 trades totalling more than a million shares which is over 2% of the total shares in the company. Given the small size of normal bargains in this stock, it is not surprising that they had to pay 190p for them IMHO. Question is who is it (and why). In my view this is an undervalued stock so maybe someone is building a position - any views? | paulf99
01/2/2005 13:29 | It would appear that somebody has paid a premium to get hold of £1m shares? Could be interesting times ahead. Good Luck GS | green sand
30/1/2005 17:08 | Cheers GB....hope it is sooner than your anniversary ! | cobweb
30/1/2005 13:45 | cobweb, It as gone quiet. I'm still looking for £2 by the aniversary of of my purchase (2/8/05). 12 month target 226 plus of course the divi. GB | greatbear
29/1/2005 20:13 | All quiet on this BB....any thoughts on the the future for VP ? Any news expected ? What's next and how long to get this up to £2 ? | cobweb
12/1/2005 09:58 | Robbie Burns believe VP in breakout territory - could now fly to over £2. | susier
06/1/2005 23:09 | Cap123, not sure who you are asking to "chill"....just interested holders enjoying the rise here ! With, as you say, more to come ! | cobweb
06/1/2005 19:38 | u all need to chill! The dip was due to profit taking. The shares actual value shud be around the 230p level if u guys are prepared to wait. Nature of shares to dip due to nervousness and profit taking - cannot expect it to go up without the dips!. | cap123
04/1/2005 23:48 | No worries here. Todays price movement is very odd, one large sale drove the price down, only to be followed by alot of buying. Perhaps MMs keeping Bid low to pick up some stock from nervous holders - the buying suggeste they got it wrong. Good support at circa 175, think we will go higher, if not tomorrow - soon. Piano Man is spot on...only issue I think is some profit taking as we approach psychological £2 level. | cobweb
04/1/2005 22:01 | Susier, Can be a bit illiquid this stock, Alpesh Patel has been bullish for a while on this one I think. Sods law the stock down today, bit like tipsters on CNBC saying oil prices will hit $100 and they go down today, on a longer term view VP- still not expensive given the low debt, I am holding for now, no reason to sell. | wipo1
04/1/2005 15:22 | Alpesh Patel was on BBC's Working Lunch today - he has VP has one of his picks for 2005, stating medium risk - 12 month outlook. I was wondering whether to sell on today's drop, but will stay in fo the duration now that I've seen this. Can't see any other reason to sell at the moment. | susier
04/1/2005 13:57 | The chart says profit-taking on break-out. Shoul find support at 170. | piano man
04/1/2005 12:19 | Why the sudden drop today ? | ptgint
30/12/2004 18:16 | There is talk of some interest in the construction sector (and shipping firms), as these may be in demand for the massive reconstruction work after the Tsunami. This is not borne out by todays drop in some nautical stocks... but... Possible that VP would indirectly (or even directly) benefit from this; the indirect benefit would arise from larger firms' resources being taken abroad, putting pressure on the supply side. I shall sit on my hands on this one. Donations can come fromthe sale of another stock. | edmundshaw
30/12/2004 13:02 | Starting to feel that something is on. One 2.5k buy and all three mms move within a minute! GS | green sand
29/12/2004 23:46 | Another nice rise, low volume, but repeat buys - good stuff, just waiting for the news of a bid now .......... | cobweb
22/12/2004 17:12 | Nice rise and close. Intriguing... NMD also up a little ...and I notice NMD now has 2 MMs and is quoting some trades ...at last. | edmundshaw
22/12/2004 10:26 | Yeah nice rise today, they must be worth 2 quid giving the very strong balance sheet, low debt. | wipo1
22/12/2004 09:46 | I notice that Speedy Hire increased it's banking facilities recently to over £100m with the purpose of looking at buying companies. There is definitely consolidation talk in the sector and VP could be a target. Nice to see a new 15 year high in the share price !! | cmillar |
