I agree.

This is a superb turnaround story for anyone who has an investment horizon beyond months (unfortunately few and far between on these boards). It's as simple as that.

My definition of recovery: 1 Restructuring to reduce cost to increase profit: 2 Reduce borrowing by rights issue: 3 Secure new contracts to increase revenue: They have achieved all three from my research.

I have no link but the date is 100% correct.

What do you define as recovery?

If you mean revenue then yes I agree, but I think profitability will be depressed. Revenue is the most important thing though - once this is right, the rest will fall into place.

Based on the information in the above article, revenues should be well above expectations and the recovery completed in the final results.

Volex said revenue in the first two month of the new year is up 13%, with factory loading in the first quarter indicating revenue will be 10% ahead of the previous year and 4% over the previous quarter. - See more at:

Thanks for that, Mustinm. Wouldn't it be helpful if Volex' own website had that information? Sorry, just feeling a bit peeved with company directors at the moment. (I'm sure that didn't come across in my rant.)

It's very frustrating being a shareholder here. I just looked again at the VLX website and, nearing the end of October, the Investor Relations section is still proudly proclaiming that the half year results will be announced "November 2014." I suppose the recent persistent selling indicates that all the investors deemed important by the directors already know the results so the date is irrelevant. That leaves the pleb investors to trawl for the RNS every morning at 7 a.m. throughout November. Thanks VLX.

Thanks for posting that, imastu. I'll take comfort from anywhere I can get it.
I just wish Investec hadn't been so wrong-footed at the time of the 2012 profits warning. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence but maybe, this time, they have it right.

Hmmm, poor couple of weeks though.

Broker review published today (I don't have access) - reiterated 115p target. Presumably they would have some communication with the management at some point and would not be putting that out if things were softening. Probably...

Bought 50k yesterday, new holding for me. Tight stop but I must admit I'm impressed with today's resilience. Didn't move much at all.

The current fall is little more than following the broader mkt IMHO. If it falls well below the 75p rights issue price, which I did not take up incidentally then I may be in for more.

I think you hit the nail on the head, or rather "nails." Leaked poor results combined with a constant unwillingness to quantify the upbeat RNS's doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

This relentless selling looks very similar to what preceded the last two cash calls. I wonder what price the next rights issue will be?

No, I didn't say the director sold. I was just pointing out that the purchase occurs then a few days later there is heavy selling. Obviously coincidental.

parkinsa - when was that? The only large director sell I can see was in November 2012 on exercising options.

I'm sorry but this is not the first time a Volex director has made a purchase shortly before the results are due only to be followed by repeated large sells.

Not sure I'd buy the argument either. After all, that would have to make him disingenuous or stupid. Surely not qualities one would associate with a director.

I don't buy that argument parkinsa - there are just some nervous nelson's around at the moment. I remain optimistic

Looks like someone knows the interim results and they're not good. I wonder if last month's Director buy was designed to mislead?
