The last statement gave the following details:
"It is pleasing to confirm that the trading recovery that was reported at the time of the Group's preliminary results announcement on 12 June 2014 has continued. Results for the first quarter of the year were ahead of our expectations in terms of both revenues and profitability. The successful fund raising and renewal of banking facilities announced alongside the preliminary results has meant that the Group can move forward with delivering the Volex Transformation Plan at an accelerated pace and thereby ensuring that a return to growth can be ensured in a sustainable manner.

I think there's plenty of upside from here and expect a strong recovery. IMHO

buywell2.

Your floor of 82.5p is now well broken. The question is is this going to drop below the 75p rights issue price? (Which I did not take up incidentally).

None the less the chart looks very dodgy now

Any more negative news and it's a big move south

50p even perhaps

Not for widows or orphans

Napoleon,
I agree, I went to the AGM and chat with Christoph for quite a while, they are very confidence for the operation recently, that's why so many bods bought in.

the market might want to wait for IR data.

or we need a fund to buy in, so trick the share price up, like RM2.

Quite.

But then I didn't buy for the noise.

IMO this is a LTH, 2 or 3 years, with a big reward potential.

Have bought in. Agm statement sounds like a turning point to me. Plenty to go for on both the short and long term charts.

A very positive update and the news that the market needs to hear. This can show some real movement now on the back of progress made and of the progress going forward.
All good IMHO

I can't help but be sceptical given my recent history with this lot - although I have to say I think the new management have done very little wrong. They are well incentivised to make sure the recovery continues and the other point of note is that while the bonus thing was based on revenue performance, the AGM statement also stated that profitability was higher than expectations.

So that's all good...

;-)

A note of cynisism, fair enough. But they did also say the recovery was accelerating, as in ongoing, so presumably and hopefully Q1 isn't just a flash in the pan.

Well, that's quite an upbeat statement. I'm more than happy to be wrong but I'd like to know the details before I get too excited about the recovery.

Leaked already and it's bad news otherwise the price wouldn't be falling. Happens every time.

WAS VOLEX LARGEST SHAREHOLDER AMONGST THIS RABBLE?

Yes, it's a pity about the earlier notification statement though! I always find these a bit obtuse but I suspect the change is as a result of not taking up the offer. It's about the right percentage.

A believer:

Ruffer purchased 2,149,070 new shares in the recent placing which were admitted to the market on 2 July 2014. In addition to this Ruffer also purchased, on 2 July 2014 a further 315,424 of Volex Plc's existing shares.

These transactions had the effect
of increasing Ruffer's percentage
holding from 7% to 10%

Right.

I mean, why look at the later information in the 2014 accounts, when you can use the 2012 accounts?

Can you tell us where it says that (about wanting the rest next year) anywhere?

from Note 1 to the accounts:

"Subsequent to year end, renewed facilities sized at $45.0 million have been agreed conditional only upon the raising of $25.0 million (net of issue costs) from the sale of shares as detailed below. This $45.0 million facility extends through to 15 June 2017"

$25m (not pounds) has now been raised ($30m actually) and therefore the facility lasts until 2017. And no mention of 'wanting it back' then - they'll be happy to renew if the business is performing well.
