I am sure there are quite a few tbh.Why would they not anymore than someone with 20000 shares? |
Why would anybody with a quarter of a million shares comment on this board, really |
I have around 250000 shares of vod, deeply under water so far, worst investment in recent years. Dont have other options but keep holding it. Sigh |
Well they aren't all allocated to LTIP schemes are they. They've cancelled over a billion shares so far |
Sold my last purchase from earlier this week
Lots going on elsewhere with better divis to boot
Have a good weekend |
They'll probably be a few tens of millions allocated to employee share schemes, they are hardly going to spend 4bn euros on share buybacks just to give them to employees.
Almost back to where we were before the update on the 4th February. And divi arrived bringing average buy price down a little further. |
So dplewis, the buyback shares are allocated to employees as a reward for promoting share buybacks in order to reduce shares in circulation so we shareholders can be saddled with huge debts. Question; why not pay down debt instead of squandering Billions on vanity scams? such as share buybacks. |
"The sole purpose of the Programme is to reduce share capital. Ordinary Shares acquired by GSI will be subsequently repurchased by Vodafone, held as treasury shares and then either cancelled or allocated to employee share awards as they fall due." |
What are VOD gonna do with all the shares held in the treasury if they are not going to cancell them? |
The usual midday dip... |
2 called for a higher cut than 25bps |
I think that the market in general (and my portfolio in particular - yay, happy days) had already priced in a rate cut. Here's hoping the rally continues. |
If BOE cut rates by 0.50% good for VOD... |
Buyback the past few days are great value, dividend payday tomorrow 7th, some holders using the DRIP will get rolled back in again too.. :o) |
55m shares bought back already in the latest tranche |
I recon VODA bought another highly rated stack in media co? |
CFRA lowered PT to 70p from 75p.. |
I just checked my holdings since this deal :-
VOD -63%.
VZN +50% |
No cash changing hands if understood correctly...more like have to plough money in...roll outs is a money pit...VOD being a cash cow...sharing of masts where one has less coverage than the other... |
I read the merger details. They join forces 51% cod 49% hutchinson. with call put options that result if taken up either way of vod owning the lot.
They divi up debt inherited by Merge, but I saw no mention of cash changing hands.
Someone who knows more should summarise for us.
Strategically I think it is too smaller players in 5g rollout joining up to give critical mass.
Sounded good to me, but market not impressed in the short term.
But then the market never looks past the next month, it will take years to mature. |
Even 1p up is a struggle...what chance... |
hardupfedup: There was 'talk' about 18 months ago. Some synergy and cost savings for E.M. 18 months down the line a VOD takeover should be even more attractive. |
elon wants vod imo |
Group needs 35 billion for 3G merger ! It will hit sp |
