02/8/2023 08:33 | Edison paid research paper, as referenced in the RNS Reach Interesting comparison with other Vietnam and regional ITs (exhibit 10) - shows VOF NAV lost the least in the last year, but gained the least over 3 years Also, costs have fallen as fees have been restructured Conclusion VOF is an attractive play in Vietnam’s long-term growth story, while at the same time offering downside protection during periods of short-term market headwinds through structuring investments on private terms (c 80% of VOF’s investments have been initially made into private companies). In addition to a layer of safety, these arrangements often include terms that generate recurring income and therefore assisting VOF’s dividend payments. | spangle93
01/8/2023 11:26 | Vietnam manufacturing PMI rose from 46.2 to 48.7. Andrew Harker, Economics Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, said: “The Vietnamese manufacturing sector remained under pressure in July, according to the latest PMI data, with firms again struggling to secure new business and scaling back output accordingly. Despite the latest drop in production, firms were still left with unsold stock, however. Meanwhile, there were again falls in prices and a shortening of suppliers' delivery times amid widespread spare capacity in the sector. "On a more positive note, there were signs that demand may be stabilising as new orders fell at the softest pace in five months. Firms will be hoping that this may feed through to renewed growth of orders in the months ahead." | aleman

31/7/2023 12:44 | VEIL is the best of the 3 Vietnam London listed trusts over the last 3 months. But as always, it depends on the period over which you're measuring. Year to date VNH is the best of the 3. Whereas over the last month, VOF and VEIL have both risen about 7.5% before today Good to see some confidence returning to the country's trusts, no matter which you're invested in | spangle93
31/7/2023 11:03 | Quite a big jump at VEIL today. The Vietnamese market is up again, as the good run continues (new bull market after 3 x 0.5% interest rate reductions?), and VEIL's discount has closed to around 10%. Is VOF getting left behind a bit? | aleman
26/6/2023 14:29 | FT Article 25th June "Vietnam must take ‘aggressive&rs May explain 1.5% drop in VOF & VEIL whilst VNI is up. Key points, :- Vietnam grew >8 per cent, one of the fastest in 2022 But growth slowed 1Q23 to 3.3% ,down from 5.9% 4Q22, as a grim global economic picture and high inflation cut into demand for the country’s exports. “We rely on the world’s demand for our products, which is facing a lot of difficulties,” Ho Duc Phoc told FT, adding that the war in Ukraine had raised oil and consumer prices, putting pressure on manufacturing input and trade costs and depressing buyers’ appetite. “Our orders from international partners have reduced drastically.” He said the government was targeting full-year growth of 6 to 6.5 per cent, following anticipated first-half growth of about 4 per cent. “In the next six months, we will probably have [to take] aggressive steps to achieve that target,” he said, citing an extension of deadlines for tax payments, the reduction of value added tax and petrol levies amid proposals to help lower costs and boost demand. Vietnam’s central bank this month cut interest rates by 50 basis points, its fourth reduction this year. | hydrogen economy

17/3/2023 11:52 | Under Decision No 313/QĐ-NHNN issued by the SBV late Tuesday, several policy rates have been adjusted down by 50-100 basis points since Wednesday. Accordingly, the rediscount interest rate has been reduced from 4.5 per cent per year to 3.5 per cent per year while overnight electronic interbank rate and interest rate for loans to offset capital shortages in clearance between the central bank and commercial banks have been also decreased from 7 per cent per year to 6 per cent per year. According to the SBV, the rate cut was made as the country’s inflation is under control. Data from the General Statistics Office (GSO) showed the consumer price index (CPI) last month increased by 0.45 per cent against the previous month. For the first two months of 2023, the CPI increased by 4.6 per cent against the same period last year. hxxps://vietnamnews. | hydrogen economy
