Further activity today

“And still the shorts keep buying back. Another 300,000 shares on Friday. Just another 4 million to go...

This is the strongest signal possible that we are past the bottom and on the way back up”

Rotrader, did see this post?

“I see on shorttracker.co.uk that Coltrane has started covering its short position - although they still need to buy more than 1 million shares. Last time they did this (June/July this year), they single-handedly pushed the share price up more than £2!”

rotrader -

Please do. Would be v. interested to see what caused the transformation which was good to see. I was unable to tune in to the meeting.

Article in The Times today, headed "Royal carpet-maker looking threadbare" quotes Wilding saying, alongside VCP's first half results, "the remainder of the year continues to look more challenging with ongoing lower demand maintaining pressure on top-line sales, alongside inflation edging up raw material input costs". The headwinds are expected to "slightly more than" offset a £20 million profit lift from a recent reorganisation of the company, which has included the relocation of manufacturing in the UK. Th move has helped productivity and margins in the first half of the year."

Presumably he was more encouraging at the meeting.

Mr Wilding said that the pledge was for 2 years, never used and hence not renewed.
