03/2/2014 12:35 | MC The ability of QuantumRD looks great, it has delivered, as far as I can see, and has gone on to be applicable to majors and many oil/gas activities, compared to finding the odd small pocket of oil when this process started. What they've not done to date is to be able to successfully monitise it. I'm not sure why that is, length of time the likes Chevron/CGG take or they just have not been good enough on the commercial front. You get the feeling that if they had a guy on the commercial side who was as good as SG on the techie stuff then there would be no stopping them! Still, zilcho dosh coming in from the parent (VIY plc) may prove to be a big help in concentrating VEC to get commercial deals in, lets hope so. I think AR may be able to help with some guidance on these aspects. | ![]() the prophet
03/2/2014 12:29 | Interesting view Proph. FWIW, I still believe QRI/D could be a major money spinner in the years ahead (provided it is not superceded by other tech - which was always a risk) and that is the reason I'm staying put. My main concern would be that a nascently successful VEC is not sold to fund an eventually unsuccessful facilities management company! | ![]() major courtenay
03/2/2014 12:14 | no, but I'm looking at that aspect as a bonus now. As I've posted before, get two bites of the cherry. With VEC, either the boys get the funding at a suitable price/level and get the contracts in or they don't, but in the meantime it is not costing VIY plc anything, and we get to share the upside of any developments over there. The $20m valuation for VEC looks a tough ask, but lets see what happens. There would seem to be strong buying of the stock and I would think that is about what AR can bring to the table , facilities management company or whatever, and also as a person who can look on VEC with a fresh look and help them achieve their ambitions. | ![]() the prophet
03/2/2014 11:58 | Prophet, have you given up on VEC? | ![]() major courtenay
03/2/2014 11:45 | Yes TP agreed. Placing apart I thought it was a give away at .14/.15p.Everyone had the chance to right a few wrongs using foresight not hindsight. Good luck. | ![]() fairenough11
03/2/2014 11:38 | encouraging to see the high volumes continuing to be traded on VIY and also the share price making decent progress against the 0.1p placing price. From small acorns!..... | ![]() the prophet
03/2/2014 10:38 | explains the rise today, looks like plenty have doubled there money, yet plenty have lost so much that got in a few month ago, I thought market price would be o.10 today so was keeping an eye out to invest, | ![]() taf420

02/2/2014 15:14 | twix386, Thanks indeed interesting post, what would you expect the short term reaction in share price if VEC land the $5M funding at say 20% dilution? I know a number of factors could contribute to this such as the addition to the team someone with industry know how, perhaps from CGG or Chevron, plus many other possibilities. We have eleven months for the three from VEC to deliver or they hand over QRI to AR, ironic for the first time we have a time frame. GL | ![]() jimb2
02/2/2014 14:53 | Still not clear why it is thought that VEC will be worth $20m later on this year for the purposes of a financing Are shareholders in VIY being kept fully in the picture here? | ![]() gemstar2 |
