"Our relationship with CGG   enables us Our relationship with CGG   enables us to bid on large projects for international customers around the world and we will look to expand our highly qualified workforce to cope with what we anticipate will be a large increase in commercial work."

Should this not read large decrease in any form of work?

If they are not 8p plus by next April something has gone wrong. 12p by then would be nice obviously, but maybe a bit of a stretch. "

The trades I am referring to are, 3 trades of 75m and 1 trade of 45m. Total 270m probably bought or sold by a same person or an institution.

Agreed, the calculation is the same for both. The only difference is that with a rights issue you can also sell your rights nil paid for which special CGT rules apply. Obviously this wasn't applicable here.

Swiftnick, I think you'll find that so far as HMRC are concerned an open offer is the same as a rights issue. After all it gives you the right to buy the stock at a discount, so the more complex rule applies imo.

Spec7: You never know, the CGT losses might come in handy.

I feel sorry for those who put these in an ISA (and therefore don't get the benefit of the CGT losses).
