06/2/2013 11:59 | Would be nice to get through the 380 barrier. | kazz
25/1/2013 18:23 | There was a lot of talk of Alent being the one to increase most Alent on conversion 20/12/12 306p now 336p + 30p Ves .. .. .. 353p now 376 + 23p I suppose Alent has done better, but not that much. Combined 712p Cookson last 18/12/12 was 643p How much is due to S M increase? (As to my other post today, IG has Ves at a 380.35p as high of day) | robertfaulkner
25/1/2013 10:55 | Too much resistance last time, maybe just maybe and then onwards and upwards. | tamboerskloof
25/1/2013 09:32 | Approaching the magic 380p, will it pass it this time? | robertfaulkner
14/1/2013 10:00 | Hi Robert, I always thought a company had to be trading for "x" amount of years and have "y" amount of turnover and liquidity. I didn't think they could just turn up and say they want in or in this case split a company in two and keep both in the ftse ?? Yes, I'm no expert !! | flatoutfred
14/1/2013 08:30 | flatout, isn't it just the value of the shares x the number in issue being in the top 350 companies by share value. Or do you mean they should wait a month or so for the share price to settle down? | robertfaulkner
11/1/2013 10:07 | I still don't understand how they both managed to get a FTSE350 listing straight away ?? | flatoutfred
09/1/2013 20:00 | Bought in and holding since Monday 7th Jan, seems to be one of my better decisions, hopefully; should be a positive year. Would 450p be a resonable target for 2013? | tamboerskloof
04/1/2013 19:44 | Alent and Versuvius added together now over 700p before de-merger Cksn 643p 8th Dec. I worry this is too good to be true | robertfaulkner
21/12/2012 12:00 | Good recovery for Vesuvius on a bad ftse day. Now 352p down a fraction, from a low today of 343p | robertfaulkner
20/12/2012 13:02 | The dividend allocation split between the 2 companies is 63.3% VSVS and 36.7% ALNT which appears in-line with attributable profit. To preserve an historical perspective those percentages seem about right when apportioning a weighting to each of the companies...are there any other guide figures? However, I suspect that ALNT has better growth prospects so I am going to work on the basis of a 55/45 split in favour of VSVS. CKSN's Bull run had moved the share price from 110p to 755p so my adjusted high for VSVS is 415.25p and 339.75p for ALNT. The more recent range was 507.50p to 650p giving adjusted ranges of 279p:357.50p for VSVS and 228.50p:292.50p for ALNT. It becomes clear which company offers the better value currently. Assuming c357.50p is the adjusted interim high for VSVS, then a slippage of c(10.0%) to c321.75p (close to yesterday's low) was to be expected but a third wave of c14.00% to c366.75p is my idea of a short-term target with further progress beyond that during 2013. | pkvidean
20/12/2012 09:18 | haha nice one Robert. I believe the 2 share prices will sperate quite a bit more also. VSVS on the upside IMO. I thought there would have been a greater difference between the 2 companies, but I'm sure it wont take long to develop. Alot for Vesuvius depends on the demand for metal espacially steel. Keep an eye out for demand in China and far east. Also Corus/Tata are a driving factor for the Vesuvius located in UK | upsondowns
20/12/2012 09:09 | I hope we can stick to posting on VSVS for both for a while, as there didn't used to be many CKSN posts and it would be nice to read all on one site. After a while, once they have been separate for a while, the 2 threads will develop there own followings I've been dying to post this: Versuvius is erupting, up 4% | robertfaulkner
19/12/2012 18:31 | yep and Alent has been opened as a separate thread. | peter27
19/12/2012 18:08 | Are we all going to use this tread instead of CKSN as the chart on cksn is dead now? I'll post this thread on the CKSN Thread Zangdook, that would be lovly | robertfaulkner
19/12/2012 16:43 | From July: Peel Hunt analysts recently forecast both parts of the business would re-rate upward following a split, with the ceramics division's enterprise value rising to seven times 2013 ebitda and the electronics unit's to 7.4 times. That equates to a combined share price of 945p Get a move on then. | zangdook
19/12/2012 09:40 | Me too zangdook. which one to put your money in though? Regards.....kazz. | kazz
19/12/2012 09:29 | Interesting to see VSVS and ALNT both trading at roughly the same levels. I somehow thought VSVS would trade higher than ALNT. | zangdook
