Steady as she goes, good effort to outperform on the BEV market, and used car prices squeezed higher, which market naturally likes.

Was heavily oversold as the market fretted. No doubt the budget will include further info on govt targets on BEV in particular.

Buyback displays confidence - and was trading too far below nav.

Expecting a return to close to nav over coming weeks/months as long as govt doesn't turn too nasty.

Given the EV problem, I'm stunned at the rise. It's not like the problem is going away and if anything can only get worse.

Hopefully the in-line prediction for next year will draw a line under the share price slide.
Thought this was an interesting line

Hy results out and they read quite positively to me. Despite the fall in new retail vehicles sales, VTU have gained significant mkt share and their BEV sales grew by double digits 10.9 percent. Good used car and after sales performance.Chairman noted Profit for full year is forecast to be higher than last year.Another 3m share buy back announced.Net assets per share grew to 73.7p from 70.9p. Share price fall in recent months seems a bit overdone. AIMHO, DYOR

Just think as with so many industries there's a lot of uncertainty as to what direction this government will go.

Not a great believer in politicians affecting share prices in general, but if you'll pardon the pun, the motor industry is at something of a crossroads, particularly with regards to the extent to which the conversion to electrical vehicles will be adopted by a potentially sceptical public.

Budget at end of month might well clarify, at least to an extent, how that and other issues will impact companies like VTU.

Shares are dirt cheap but until the fog clears, slow moving traffic may persist!

RF earning £1.2 million a year is probably one of the reasons it's not been sold!

If I was one of the big % holders here, I'd be asking some serious questions. Like how did RF know to sell his shares at 78 and 74p. And why is this share trading so low? All the other listed dealers have been bought, why not this one???

All AIM shares are taking a battering. Clearly there are some big holders (funds?) dumping big chunks of shares - presumably running scared, that our dear Chancellor is about to remove the IHT exemption status from AIM shares at the end of the month..

Vtu must have exhausted their share buy back funds as the last lot were bought for around 70p pr share earlier this month..

Some of this is due to Beaker Millivolt's desire to achieve Net Zero.
VTU is a motor vehicle dealer, the British government is committed to getting ICE vehicles off the roads by 2030. To that end there are targets set as to how many EVs are to be sold as a percentage of total sales per year.
2024, 22% of vehicles sold have to be EVs.
2025, 28% are to be EVs.
2026, 33% are to be EVs.
2027, 38%.
2028, 52%.
2029, 66%.
2030, 100% under Labour commitments.
In July 2024 just 16.8% of new vehicles sold were EVs.
This is ONLY A UK MANDATE.
Manufactures will incur a financial penalty for failing to meet the EV targets of £15K per mom-compliant (ICE) car.
The manufactures will not swallow the fines and will pass it on to the dealerships who in turn will have to charge the consumer more for the ICE vehicles, higher prices for cars means less profit for dealerships due to less people being able to afford a new car.
A new electric Mini is about £42K, the price of a petrol equivalent is about £28K, add the £15K fine to the petrol car and the price rises to £43K.
The fact that "Western" manufacturers are having second thoughts over EVs only leaves the way open for Chinese companies to dominate the electric vehicle markets.

Atlantic Lithium (ALL) hasn't made a penny in 10 years and has a market cap of £85m. VTU has made give or take 30 million last year, with a NAV of around 72p per share. 2025 target price is 85p. Absolutely baffled by it. Can someone explain it to me? Not to mention RF selling shares at 78 and 74p, someone knew something??
