09/7/2020 12:49 | (assuming I survived the walk - I have 4 stone to lose, ugh) | holidayfunds8
09/7/2020 12:47 | As has been mentioned, many of us are guilty of checking the VRS share price a few times a day, 'just to keep up to date'. But that's probably not the best way to make money. When I do look, and see 45pence+ available to sell, it encourages me to sell a few, in the hope of being able to buy them back at a lower price. Sometimes that works but, if I'm honest with myself, I end up missing out on a much more significant rise, which dwarfs any short-term trading profits. So I tend agree this one is now just a solid HOLD, whilst we now all wait for news. And I am now training myself to stop looking (easier said than done!). I maybe need to go for a very long walk - Pilgrims' Route across Spain? Or something like that. Then, looking up the latest VRS share price after a 3 month gap would definitely get my heart-rate up... | holidayfunds8
09/7/2020 12:30 | Hello homer, If you’d put your money into Haydale 2 years ago it would have... gone DOWN by a factor of FIFTY ! Crystal balls eh... | laginaneil
09/7/2020 11:59 | Sorry to read your post Sandbag; I am in the fortunate position that I don't need to draw on my SIPP funds for a number of years and so my losses are only paper ones. I still have absolute confidence in the future prospects of this remarkable company, and believe that great things await us. I am as frustrated as many, but there are no short cuts when it comes to this ground-breaking technology. Glalth's | richgrumpa
09/7/2020 11:53 | If you’d put your money into Haydale or AGM 3 months ago it would have doubled! | homer18
09/7/2020 11:46 | An interesting piece, a bit dated now though, as the number of AIM listed companies has fallen well below 1,0000. The video is well worth watching though, quite incredible and you have to watch until the end to appreciate it. | andy
09/7/2020 11:38 | Orders not crutches. Loans from whomever, bah. Orders - Leading to .... Revenue earning despatches. That's the answer . £68 million marcap is already discounting some success. Lots more is not priced in simply because orders are not visible.I see no harm in an RNS saying the present production capacity is being used. If it is.So much I don't understand here. And I'm not sure it's my fault. It's not like cheering a football team "oh dear we hit the post "I was recommended patience the other day , no alternative! | alchemy
09/7/2020 11:34 | I think we have all suffered the vagaries of markets. 80's pretty drab experiences and ended up with 2 properties with healthy mortgages and little value. Wish I'd kept them now, instead of getting out soon as, big mistake. Redundancy in early 2000's gave me a wedge to stick in Autonomy then 911 and well, you know the story. Needless to say I sold out as patience had worn thin and I listened to those that saw holes in the strategy and development. Needless to say they rocketed and I watched from afar. This time, I'm here for the end game. All things being equal this is at the forefront of new material developments, building a great team, connections, networks, IP, international presence, Government awareness and a commodity with ambitions to change the world and the will of people to facilitate that change. The reaper may have other ideas but until then I'm placing my faith and money in an enterprise with vision and the tenacity to invoke the change. Patience is a quality that rewards conviction. | fireball xl5
09/7/2020 10:34 | oh how I dream, of a rise, one used to slip under water but then bob back up but not any more. the cheerful tweets the many meetings from the man have gone, they kept my dream going but now its just us dreamers attempting to re-insure each other. wow keep the faith is hard, OK one has not lost cash until one sells but boy the spreadsheet looks sh@t | rovi70
09/7/2020 10:29 | Fack me, Mug Westbrook's 'ere again! The only mug I know who'd cosy up to Tom "mug" Winnifroth to help get the share price down and THEN SELL! Ya couldn't make it up! Rolf Harris liked to fiddle with little girls, so I'm not sure what point yer makin' by comparing yourself to him? | mug sandwich
09/7/2020 09:49 | tim3416 I hope you are right but even the lth are getting fed up me included. We should have took neills advice and invested in tesla. I think we are nearly there but its a long time coming. | russ42
09/7/2020 09:48 | Still a great co in the making, keep the faith and keep adding. | wuzy
09/7/2020 09:42 | In all this doom and gloom on here this morning let's not forget the Government have just awarded VRS an unprecedented 5m pound loan to scale up the business. A bit more patience and holders will be rewarded imo. GLALTH :-) | tim3416
09/7/2020 09:36 | Shavian, have you heard the saying about running your winners and cutting your losers? | davemac3
09/7/2020 09:06 | Sandbag, I echo Woodie's sympathy, but like her I'm grimly hanging on to all mine despite a horrendous tax bill looming for end-July. Luckily my ITM holding has done OK and I'm trimming those instead with gritted teeth.Come on Neill, let's have that first big sale! | shavian
09/7/2020 08:39 | Sandbag, I am so sorry to hear that you have been forced to sell some of your shares at this point. Like most long term holders, I too am considerably underwater but thankfully I am in the lucky position of not needing to sell. I find looking at my portfolio somewhat depressing so made a conscious decision to simply not do it some time ago. Some may think that that is 'irresponsible', I would disagree. I keep a close eye on the company which is what matters. As others have pointed out, Neill could not have foreseen the events which have unfurled over the last couple of years so I see no point in blaming him. He has always made a point of trying to de-risk the company by spreading commitment across several sectors. I am confident that the Innovate loan will now speed things up and we should soon start to receive good news. All the best Woodie | woodpeckers
09/7/2020 08:21 | Laginaneil, ...and my thoughts. Who would have thought that the USA would ever have had such a d......d for president. Re investing in VRS, patience is the key. Sadly some have lost a lot of money so far but I still believe that VRS will pay handsomely to those who are prepared to stay the course which , by the way, I think is not long now. | phoenixs
09/7/2020 08:21 | I'm sorry for anyone who has lost money and I myself currently have a very large paper loss. Fact is though that this is an AIM stock and a business that is at the start of a new industry . Any stock on AIM is high risk and there is never a guarantee of a quick rich scheme. I remain confident that I will recoup my current paper loss in the short term and make a lot of money in the medium term but I have been invested for over 3 years and dont plan on selling for at least another 5-7 years unless circumstances force me to, or something better comes along. | cheek212
09/7/2020 08:01 | Morning Folks, To all the folk that are seriously negative my condolences. Some propose it is all NR fault. Remember we have had / still have a WORLD WIDE pandemic and a HONG KONG crisis and a Trump administration... Was he over exuberant about the company future in the light of NO ONE knew we would have a pandemic, maybe a little. I guess some people think they could have done better. Just my thoughts. | laginaneil
09/7/2020 07:42 | So, to recap recent events. Ricketts promised (sorry, “hoped for’ - he sure does have a lot of hope, that guy!) a deal out of China by June 30th. No such deal arrived - is that the third or fourth Chinese ‘deal’ (BIGT etc) Ricketts has failed to deliver? I lose track… Instead, as a consolation prize, a loan facility is arranged with HMG. A loan which will need to be paid back - but with what, given that revenues are shrinking and, according to TW, the revenues from ShareProphets are bigger than VRSs’ graphene revenues? Answers on a postage stamp. Never mind, ignore that. Let’s move on. In other news Matt Walker, having delivered precisely *nothing* after two years racking up the air miles with frequent trips to China, Korea and elsewhere (he must be an expert on the cuisines of those nations by now! All those expensed meals!), is rewarded with a job. For most other companies two years of non-delivery would result in the culprit being shown the door - but not at Versarien! When you’re through the VRS looking glass failure is success, shrinking revenues means a growing company, and the absence of any deals for years on end just means that the first, HUGE (© Graham Wood) deal is ever-closer! So Matt takes his place at the VRS trough next to Ricketts, doubtless loaded up with share options. Another mouth to feed in the happy VRS family. The next set of figures will be interesting. Will they show that high-margin business has indeed arrived to replace the low-margin business Ricketts terminated (if you believe that) to make room for it? Will they show any graphene revenues *at all* this half? There’s not even a 12kg O&G order to trumpet this time - not that the revenues from that alleged order troubled the accounts last time. Still no orders from Aecom. Still no orders from Unilever. Still no orders from IAI. Still no orders from Addenbrookes. Still no orders from DDP. Still no orders from ANYONE. Funny thing. TW now regularly refers to Ricketts as “Lyin’ Neill Ricketts” (or “Oily Neill Ricketts”, if you prefer). If Ricketts was indeed the honest, upstanding, open and above-board guy he claims, you *might* think he would at the very least *threaten* an action for slander / libel / defamation agains TW. But he doesn’t. Wonder why? Maybe he knows TW would laugh it off and Ricketts wouldn’t dare risk going anywhere near a court of law. Especially not after his DEEPLY dodgy behaviour on Discord over the New Year - after which *yet another* Nomad resigned. Coincidence? As Rolf Harris was so fond of saying: do you know what it is yet? | club sandwich
09/7/2020 07:28 | Sandbag, Sorry to hear that you’ve sold so many at such a loss. Enjoyed your company at the GEIC, so all the best for the futur. I’m hanging in there. TFC | the fat controller
09/7/2020 06:43 | i dont think we would have been awarded that loan now if things were not ready to go. "a rigorous process" "significantly increase its manufacture of quality assured graphene." The UK Government, via Innovate UK, has agreed to the provision of the £5 million Loan to Versarien, the first of such magnitude by Innovate UK specifically for a project named G SCALE, (an acronym for Graphene-Seat, Concrete, Arch, Leisure, Elastomer) which is designed to enable Versarien to significantly increase its manufacture of quality assured graphene. The award of the loan, which occurred on 1 July 2020, follows a rigorous process of innovation assessment and is intended to facilitate the production of sufficient quantities of graphene by Versarien to enable market supply of commercial quantities of graphene-enhanced materials. | jointer13
09/7/2020 00:21 | 'We now have a top class team' That's absurd. This is what a top class graphene team looks like: Spot the difference? | supernumerary |
