The Merc battery is from IBM -

The patent uses carbon nanoparticles. That covers a lot of Graphene type materials ie a catch all for patent purposes.

Just writing that post, only scratches the surface for me, but has alerted me to how unbelievably undervalued Versarien is at the current share price! An absolute steal down here. I've just topped up and will continue to do so for as long as funds permit and we remain at these ridiculous levels. Its an absolute gift. Anything under 130p is a gift in my opinion given the progress, number of fingers and pies plus the magnitude of opportunity.

the future..? :-)

Mercedes Vision AVTR Concept Car Inspired by "Avatar" Seen in Las Vegas.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its futuristic Vision AVTR concept car at CES, which is inspired by the movie Avatar.
The movie's director, James Cameron, helped design the car, which features 33 multi-directionally movable "surface elements" that look like scales and allow gestural communication to the car. The scales also help power the vehicle, which stores energy in the graphene-based organic battery cell, making the vehicle rare earth and metal-free. The vehicle also uses other earth-friendly materials like environmentally sustainable microfiber for the seats and ecologically stable Karuun wood for the floors.
The AVTR is not headed to production in its current form, but will be exploring and possibly implementing more ecologically sustainable materials, including graphene-based battery technology, into their future vehicles. The concept car was recently seen out in Las Vegas, which you can check out above.

As you know, the Graphene side of the business is pre-revenue at this stage so applying traditional metrics is irrelevant and naive. Im sure you are not the latter, so its just the usual 'short and distort' tactic by you and your pals. No one is fooled so I dont know why you bother. If anyone is invested in versarien and is remotely interested in 'dividend per annum' at this stage of its lifecycle then I would agree with you and they should sell as they clearly dont understand the business.

A quick 10 things off the top of my head which demonstrate progress and the foundations being laid to position Versarien in pole position to take advantage of, and drive the 2d revolution. Its by no means comprehensive but give an idea of the types of things to look for when traditional metrics are irrelevant.

1) Verified graphene producer (still the only company in the world to achieve this)
2) Established in Graphene institutes as top tier partners (eg Geic, NGI)
3) Government connections (Only company with direct UKgov involvement via secondees)
4) Scaled up production to 3T p/a with a plan in place to scale up
5) Global Expansion – WOFE set up in China, hub in the US, roots in Europe
6) Graphene orders (real graphene) (Japan and USA)
7) Industrial scale graphene enhanced polymer prototype tested and ready to go – Aecom Arch
8) Growing portfolio of products (Hexotene, Nanene, Polygrene, Biogrene etc)
9) Collabs turning into Commercial agreements eg Textiles – MAS, O&G – tbd ;-)
10)Hopper filled with at least 84 active projects and attention from major major players as evidenced with partnerships (Airbus, Aecom, MAS etc)

The list could go on but one pretty good measure of progress is the astonishing number of connections in China, who all seem to want a piece of Versarien, despite over 500 'apparent' graphene producers in their homeland. Hmmm go figure.

thanks Shavian. Interesting stuff. I see several reports this past week or so but none of them reveals the graphene supplier (yet)

"..At the CES, Mercedes-Benz is presenting the Vision Avtr, a fully electrically powered concept car that not only has a futuristic design but also features visionary battery technology.

According to the company, the 110-kWh battery with graphene-based organic cell chemistry is free of rare earths and metals. The battery’s materials are compostable and thus completely recyclable, according to Daimler. In addition, this battery technology is said to have a high energy density of 1,200 Wh/litre and also to have an “extraordinary fast charging capability”. According to the press release, the battery should be fully charged in less than 15 minutes.

In addition, the technology should also offer developers a certain degree of flexibility in terms of installation space. In some places, the battery is to be only 94 millimetres high, allowing the interior of the vehicle to be designed more freely – so far, it has mostly been designed around the battery housing.

“The real potential of this technology currently lies in basic research,” the German company writes, without revealing further information on the chemical make-up of the battery, meaning the technology used can only be speculated about. In December, for example, IBM Research reported on cobalt- and nickel-free battery chemistry, the materials of which can be obtained from seawater, among other sources. However, no precise details were given on the materials used. One of the partners for the further development of the IBM battery to series production readiness: Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America..."

Talking of positivity, get an eyeful of this YouTube from Kenneth Bogor on the EV Revolution channel. Very bullish round up of this month’s latest EV battery tech news. One snippet is of particular pertinence - 3m 51secs in. Mercedes (no less) is showcasing its AVTR concept car which features a “Graphene-based organic cell chemistry” in a battery which is “free of rare earth minerals and is both compostable and completely recyclable”. The 110kWh battery is fast charging and has very high density at 1200 wH/litre.

This could clearly herald a breakthrough in battery technology, so I wonder where they are getting their Graphene? Hmmmm.

Another company interested in graphene in construction.:-)

Not new but interesting all the same article .

Would it not be amazing if concrete of the future requires graphene .

Let alone other construction materials .

Even the builders pouring the concrete wearing graphene safety boots Hats coats trousers .

Just a dream or potential for reality :-)

Just need a quality globally verified product .

Arcadis to promote graphene use in construction

13 October 2019

The use of wonder material graphene in construction is to be accelerated with the help of consultancy firm Arcadis, after it agreed a deal with the University of Manchester’s Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC).

Graphene was first isolated at the university, and the GEIC has made Arcadis an affiliate partner, joining a cross-section of industry leaders from different sectors who will offer their insight, expertise and leadership to help drive graphene applications and processes.

Arcadis will contribute to the GEIC specifically in relation to the development of construction-related innovations. It will explore and test opportunities for the use of graphene in the construction sector, as well as introducing clients and supply chain members to the collaboration process.

Graphene is already being used in some next-generation construction materials such as photovoltaic cells and impermeable paint. It is among hundreds of new “2D” or “layered materials” offering an array of innovations that can be designed for specific applications in the sector.

The university’s facilities will form the heart of Manchester’s “Graphene City”, which will be centred on the GEIC. This will lead the development of new technologies, products and processes that make use of and commercialise 2D materials.

Arcadis’ new role came about after it helped to lead the delivery of several key buildings at the university, including the National Graphene Institute, GEIC and the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials. It is also acting as cost manager for the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MEC-D), one of the largest single construction projects undertaken by any higher education institution in the UK.

Mel Manku, UK science and education sector leader at Arcadis, said: “Since 2012, we have been immersed in the university’s vision and objectives to globally lead the research and commercialisation of graphene and other 2D materials. While the facilities we have already delivered enable this vision to be realised, we have also been identifying strategic alternatives to support the university on its journey.

“It means that, together, we can accelerate outcomes which will benefit our industry through the use and application of more sustainable and innovative materials. We will be working with partners to explore and develop solutions quickly; test and move on.”

James Baker, CEO of Graphene@Manchester, added: “Arcadis has played a key part in the development and construction of the GEIC facility and we look forward to extending this partnership in developing the graphene supply-chain further for construction. Crucially, this partnership will form a key platform in the further development of ‘Graphene City’.”

"Surely even you must realise that nobody can answer that question." Well that's funny, cause Ricketts thought he *did* know the answer to that question. He hoped to deliver a BIGT deal by the AGM, remember? Even though we found out on 1st Jan this year that none of the basics of a deal - valuation, IP protection, control etc etc - were not then in place (nowhere near by the sound of it). Funny, that...

Surely even you must realise that nobody can answer that question. It'll happen when it happens. But the Company continues to make superb progress building the fundamentals here, and so the timescale to deals and revenues is getting shorter all the time.

Dont forget, the stock market is a mechanism for transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient. Evidence suggests that you have the wrong temperament to do well here.

Roger. Interesting. But what you don't answer - what none of you bulls EVER answer - is when the abundant promise is going to feed through to deals and revenues. It was meant to be last year. Remember?

Its amazing how often the word 'sanguine' gets used on this board. Did you know it can be modeled on a graph? Up the Y axis you have level of 'sanguineness' and along the X axis you have amount of research and level of understanding of Versarien and its business. Unsurprisingly the line goes up the further you move along the X axis. In other words its correlated.

It is of no surprise to me that those who have taken the time to research, understand and importantly appreciate the Versarien business model, the magnitude of opportunity and the remarkable progress made are the most relaxed. Mike B, SuperG, Woody, Evergreen to name but a few.

Those who are not that far along the X axis are starting to wobble. Others are at zero, mainly laziness but perhaps competency a factor; it does require a few brain cells to understand after all. Most of these have sold including one rather recently, although I’m told these actually belonged to family members.

So where are you on the X axis? How sanguine do you want to be. It is no coincidence whatsoever that those who have researched and get whats actually in play here, are extremely sanguine right now. Its all there in the RNSs. Im not going to list it all out, but many possibilities are ready to drop, any of which could be game changers. Don’t get shaken out, research, question, read.
