Massive disappointment looming for the rampers when the much hyped Aecom news turns out to be a sodden squib. Looks like some punters have realised this and are heading for the exit while their punt is still worth something.

Indeed Anley i agree. The iso suggests publication of its 2D standards this month. Also mood music re standards enhanced by presence of iso chairman denis koltsov (and vrs quality assurance advisor) at the proposed US capitol hill graphene summit in may. Of course the national physical lab partnered in geic in dec and so offers industrial users and producers a 'graphene characterisation service.' And i have found by researching competitors to vrs, simply review their method of production from research papers on the net - crucial to note the percentage 'yield' of few layer graphene ie 2D from such processes. So as to discern what might be 2D graphene potential. Also iso defn for GNP 's says laterals and thickness determine 2D versus 3D graphene. Ie not enough to say layers only. Glalth. Aimo. Dyor. petition signings now running at about 150 per hour.
Six months before it closes - could breach the first key threshold (10,000) in its first week.
For it to reach the next key level (100,000) is asking a lot; are there that many investors likely to be interested?

Woody, I recall from last year one of the usual shorters boasting of still having a large short open at 60p. This request for 90,000 shares at 59p has been there for as long as i've been a shareholder (9-10 months?).

You're right, there is no proof either way from just the Level2, but I think last year someone put 2+2 together and got 4 as to the identity of the shorter.

Anyway fully on board

I see from this article, buried in the flannel something of interest. Is this simply general innovate money etc ? Or something more specifically geic orientated ? Aimo. Glalth. Best ellis

Since I'm here now a couple of other things. Regarding the share price. The company currently has huge potential but little revenue/profit to establish a conventional price. It seems to me that since there are no standard metrics for measuring potential then there can be no way to currently say what the share price should be. You could make an argument for 20p or 200p. Also, it seems to me that some people here are expecting things to happen incredibly quickly. You can't just sprinkle graphene over a product like fairy dust and send it to the market. Things that work great in the lab have to be productionised. That can take great engineering skill and might involve, for example, designing new production equipment. These things can take years. Be patient Good luck to all holders, CM

Firstly sorry for my first post here being contentious. Didn't mean it to be that.I'm now invested here, probably very long term(that's my strategy) so I thought I'd try to contribute a little.I like to be more positive and really thank all the people on here who have such detailed knowledge and have contributed that knowledge and research to the board. It has been a huge help. MANY THANKS Of course after 25years investing I never take anything said on a bb at face value but having so many starting point for follow up study has been invaluable.Hopefully the company will fulfill much of its potential over the next few years.CM

Yes! Government by Hubby. Who'd have thought our glorious history since circa 1740 would end thus.

bisho4 - can we be sure that there really is a shorter still hoping to close at 59p? I could put a bid in like that? Maybe it's been left there in an attempt to worry shareholders....make them think that there could be another attack so that they don't buy more thus allowing 'friends' who want to buy in acquire shares more cheaply than they otherwise would...

Just a thought, I have no idea but it seems feasible...

"but Japan are outside."

yes, they are the other party in the deal with the EU. We are no longer relevant in that deal. the EU, quite rightly, is getting the best deal for their members.

Next up is USA who will dictate their terms to us as we have little bargaining power alone.

May doesn't care. Hubby will be skinning the PI's merrily with his colleagues and nobody to stop them.

I ran the sales team providing dealing rooms into Japanese banks in the Big Bang era. I learned that Decision making by Japan is interesting and very different .The Japanese would have stayed but for two things. One is us voting to leave and the Uncertainty . Had we not voted to leave they'd have stayed in so far as the Diesel and Electrification issues would let them. The second thing? Trust. Who can trust the British at the moment?Mrs Thatcher said we were in for keeps.Lead not leave , Europe has issues. Not least the Euro. We're not in the Euro.I agree with the referenda point totally.I am saying to some that the leaving will cost us 25 per cent of gdp per year.BMW are not Japanese , taking the Mini to Holland, I can see why!It doesn't help to have a mis- placed view on Brussels in some psycho dramatic way.

It's interesting to see from the Level2 screenshot that the shorter who wants 90,000 shares at 59p didn't manage to close it out for a small loss during the recent dip.

This likely means that there will be another co-ordinated attack on the VRS share price as they try to force it down to close out at a profit. I would imagine this will happen around March 29th, to take advantage of the predictable market wobbles.

Imo, they should have counted their lucky stars that VRS hadn't announced an order yet and taken the sub-70p offer on the table because time is running out :)

It also means there is a guaranteed buyer for 90,000 shares in the wings :)

I remember a couple of names floating around from last year as to the identity of the shorter. Someone related to Easybrent's sphere, wasn't it? I think they were boasting to NR on twitter that they were going to close their short at sub-60p.

If you have a stop-loss above 50, I'd remove it to prevent your shares being forcibly traded during a brief, targeted dip.
