I think NR on his own holds around 10% (15 million shares). I don't know what Chris Leigh holds... anyone?

As a result of being housebound with a cold, I’ve been reading this BB including many recent posts about reducing institutional shareholdings (or not) and the up coming investor day at the GEIC (tickets for which had sold out before I could apply but I could go to 1pm presentation if anyone with a ticket finds themself unable to go).

I’ve also had a look today at the Versarien website and on there the 3%+ shareholdings have been updated to 31 Dec 2018 as of when 153,624,320 shares had been issued. The only 3%+ holdings shown are for the following six private investor retail platforms (HL 24.64%, III 10.49%, Halifax 6.72%, Barclays 4.5%, AJ Bell 4.43% and Equiniti 3.5%). They total around 55%.

The last RNS about notifiable holdings was for Will Battrick on 28 July 2018 showing a reduction in his holding to 4,801,974 shares (then 3.23% of total in issue at 148,665,029 but as of 31/12/2108 only 3.13%). So presumably he’s sold at least 0.13% of current total so as not to have more than 3% = around 200,000.

The RNS prior to that was for Miton on 3 April 2018 showing a reduction to 7,223,579 in their holding (then 4.86% on total then in issue).

One thing that did surprise me on the VRS website is their statement that, as at 31/12/18, 45.27% of the total were not in public hands. Of that, the two directors with holdings – NR and CL – hold together about 10%. So the balance in non-private hands is said to be around 35% -- it’d be a simple matter to clarify that number with CL or the registrars but I just wonder if anyone on this BB can comment.

Another scotch for my cold!!

Schmally I was lucky enough to have a one to one conversation with Peter At the AGM. He said that he wasn't sure what he was and wasn't allowed to talk about so was far happier to stay off twitter. I can confirm that the Twitter page etc was a wind up by Neill and Matt. Peter was full of excitement and enthusiasm, you could tell there was allot that he wanted to talk about but couldn't.

Well the theory seems to be stacking up.

If the supply has been Miton (suspect it is) then it was due to run out anytime in the next week depending on volumes.

If it is them and there are near or at zero that's a huge thumbs up from me.

Just to clarify, not at all negative around VRS or our CEO, apologies if my comment was interpreted that way.I'm merely negative about Twitter, the injudicious use of it, and the disproportionate amount of time investors obsess about it's content.

Thx fest. Tbf, alot of hard work has clearly gone into china already by dit boys. And uk govt. Eg pres xi visit to UoM. The 2 chinese collabs with UoM thereafter which i posted details of this week. We already have 4 mou's in place. Inc the Chinese want a strategic relationship with UoM per mou. Confirmation that a chinese panel of experts like what vrs have.

This is Against a backdrop of a changing world order - look east (asia) they say now. And trumps aim to disrupt the post war consensus and remould it with his 'america first' foreign/trade policies. Thus a ding dong between china/us over trade (and influence) clearly means uk gov and other countries too, must tread carefully? With brexit too, it's fair to say these events and times are momentus. With this in mind, i am very pleased with the progress made by neill and co. And with the 'zero risk' strategy vrs has. Let's face it, we have experts advising us. To my mind, as shareholders, we should trust their strategy and support their endeavours. For the long term success of the company, and uk govs ambition for uk plc to be a global leader in 2D materials and science (there's another tweet from matt to this effect) it must be done right and at a pace that the conditions allow. Peter jay is out in china again this jan. I wish him, bruno and matt well and thankful for their efforts. Aimo. Best ellis

Fest, It was clarified that Peter was simply not comfortable using Twitter because he did not want to be exposed to any potential pitfalls if he inadvertantly divulged anything inappropriate. He does not appear to have ever used Twitter and perhaps is equally inexperienced in dealing with investor communications and the potential questions that could be directed at him. Perfectly reasonable for Peter to want a low profile and stay under the radar as a DIT secondee. He has no obligation to liaise with investors, shorters, etc. I think it was more a case of Neill and Matt simply winding Peter up regarding his impending first Tweet. With regards to your other comment regarding Neill's excitable Tweets coming to nothing. That's somewhat disingenuous, given the raft of postive news over the past few months and the obvious progress made by the business, and it's clear there is a huge amount going on behind the scenes that the VRS team are massively excited about, but simply can't divulge to investors at present. I know we all have differing levels of patience and some get more frustrated than others with the wait for the big revenue RNSs, but I would echo other posters comments with regards to querying why you have become so negative about VRS, Neill, etc, whilst still clinging onto your shares like a vice. If you have doubts, simply de-risk accordingly. If I had similar doubts to you, I would not be able to sleep with the level of financial exposure you have to VRS.

Think we pretty much established that Peter Jay doesn't want to use Twitter as he's worried about letting something slip he shouldn't - which to be honest after hearing and seeing him at the AGM, is more than fair enough.

Tecnalia certainly have a lot of interesting R&D lines

Also, from that pdf there are a number of companies shown on page 9 one of which is OHL.

OHL, is a huge Spanish-based multinational construction and civil engineering company. They have just started their first construction project in the UK.(old war office London)

Tecnalia also have an extensive list of clients/partners including Airbus, VW, Bombardier

Yeah, Ellis, much as I respect and admire your research and snippets, that particular group of tweets kind of proves a different point. We all did keep our eyes peeled for activity from Peter Jay, for a long time, and nothing happened. Most of those euphoric and excitable tweets by NR and his colleagues come to nothing. That's been a real theme I'm afraid.

China still very much an area of focus as is the US. It’s just a completely different market where we have implement a zero risk policy. As
@neillricketts says, keep your eyes peeled on @PeterJVRS

I see it as you see it.... whilst the trade war is a distraction, there is a graphene market in both China and the USA, hence why we are looking at ODI.

That’s funny. You told me it was about the environment last week :) Look.... I totally understand it’s a combination of everything but long term business in China is done best with heavy government involvement. Totally different to other markets.

Cheers bootie :) unsure of the significance of neill trip, but could be very exciting for vrs. Quite a list of interests they have per yr post. The kubik building was opened in 2010 as a state of the art concept by the look of it. Just a thought, but I imagine they would be as keen as mustard to bring it up to date with the latest 2D materials vrs have on offer ? They also are into robotics too !

INNOVATION IN ROBOTICS TO IMPROVE PEOPLE’S QUALITY OF LIFE

2018.12.20

"The European Commission has invested 16 million Euro in DIH-HERO to accelerate innovation in robotics for healthcare

DIH-HERO (Digital Innovation Hub in Healthcare Robotics)promotes innovation and implementation of robotics in healthcare. In the next four years we will have a platform to connect companies, research centres, investors and any other body interested in making available to the health sector their innovative products and/or services in the field of robotics.

As coordinators of the platform in the Basque Country we try to integrate these innovations so that they are used efficiently. This initiative allows us to generate wealth along the entire value chain in the health care ecosystem: we share knowledge, connect stakeholders and stimulate investments.

DIH-HERO is part of the DIH on HealthcareDIH on Healthcare of the Basque Country (Health 4.0), led by the Basque Government Department of Health and has the collaboration of Osakidetza, GAIA, IK4, Kronikgune, Vicomtech, Corporación Mondragón, the University of Deusto, the UPV/EHU, Mondragón Unibertsitatea, BIOEF and the Basque Health Cluster, among others.

This initiative marks a real difference of the innovation in healthcare, taking to the market excellent products and services for the greater benefit of the final consumer: the patient.

*This project has been funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under grant agreement No. 825003."
